On tap at the brewery
Appearance: Cloudy orange, decent head.
Nose: Big tropical fruits on the nose with a tiny bit of flaky croissant malt in the background. Kinda unassuming from the aroma.
Taste: The first sip blew me away. Tons of mango, pineapple, grapefruit up front that fades into a subtle toasty malt. Its complex with layers and layers of different hop flavors. Stayed intensely flavorful and intriguing until the last drop.
Mouthfeel: spot-on, no complaints.
Overall: I'd go ahead and call this one of my top IPAs period. It's criminally under-rated thanks to the size and location of the brewery but it makes the 2.5 hour drive from Philly worthwhile.

The beer pours a clear golden amber with an inch if white head that fades quickly with little lacing. The nose is sweet with a subtle citrus and white grape. The taste packs in much more bitterness and a slight grapefruit rind aftertaste. The mouthfeel is sweet, medium bodied, well masked alcohol, balanced grapefruit bitterness, but is slightly under carbonated/syrupy. This is a well made, yet average IPA considering the other IPA options available. I'd probably pass at another opportunity to try it.

First had: on tap at Selin's Grove
Clearish orange-yellow pour, light carbonation with a small ringlet of bubbles for a head; not much in the way of retention or lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, toasted grains. Pretty standard stuff. Taste was also pretty basic, citrusy hops, not too potent, toasted grains, pale malts, slightly bitter. Kind of disappointing, after hearing this one talked up so much. Light-medium body, and a decent drinker overall, but nothing really special.

I had this at the Brew Pub. Served in a sample glass.
Appearance: The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a layer of off white head that fades to a ring around the pour.
Smell: I'm getting a citrus peel hop bitterness right off the bat. This one smells quite heavy with some malt sweetness and alcohol along with the hops. Perhaps a bit muddles.
Taste: Definitely an east coast IPA. The hop bitterness mauls the tongue, but I feel it could be a bit more refined. Very aggressive citrus hops maul the tongue. There is a mild fruity note here along with the hops. The finish is quite bitter.
Mouthfeel: The body is medium with lots of carbonation and a dry finish.
Overall: This beer isn't what I expected, especially after trying the pale ale. The hop bitterness just assaults the tongue, but it needs to be held back a bit. Good but not great.

First time I've been able to try this brew. All the other times I've been to SGB it's been out so I'm pretty excited.
A: Bright orange-gold with a slight haze for the color. Pours with two fingers of white head that dissipates into a tiny patchwork on top. Almost no lacing to speak of.
S: All over the board with hops here! Some initial flowery smell up front followed by piney goodness and a hint of tropical fruits (grapefruit, pineapple)
T: Once again all hops here. A lot of the flowery and piney flavors from the nose come in here. The malt is there just enough to provide a backbone for this beer but it is all about hoppy goodness here. Not the bitterness you might expect with just a little bitterness up front, which gets washed away pretty quickly. Finishes nice and dry.
M: Medium mouthfeel here. Still lets you know you are drinking a beer but doesn't get in the way of the flavor:
O: Another winner from SGB. If you happen to be in the pub when this is on, you should definitely grab a pint of it. Great example of an IPA that doesn't try to wow you with IBU's.

on tap at the brewpub on 9/28
A good looking pint, deep amber, small head which dissipated quite quickly. Not too much carbonation
Smell was nice and hoppy, though oddly enough I felt I got more from the APA earlier.
Taste was what you would expect from a good IPA, really got into the crevices of the mouth, leaving that "aahhh" feeling.
Overall, a good one, could see a session on just this alone.
