On tap at SGB on 2/16/08.

A - Slightly hazy golden body with whispy white head that immediately disappeared and left no lacing. Virtually no carbonation as well.

S - Sweet and spicy Belgian yeast with a fruity aroma featuring some citrus fruits and spicy apple. Slight whiff of alcohol. Mild earthy hoppiness with some floral notes.

T - Aromas come out in the flavor, especially the spicy yeast and some fruity esters. Hops are sweet and floral. Also get a bit of grape sweetness, crisp apple and some white wine.

M - Medium body with slightly syrupy texture. Spicy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Finishes with a spicy fruitiness on the tastebuds.

D - This is a very drinkable Triple with lots of flavor, but not over the top. Alcohol is well-concealed. One of the best Belgian-inspired ales I've had!

A-Slightly hazy brilliant golden yellow body with a thin bright white head. Head disappears into whispy ring leaving no lace.

S-Apples and apricots melding with a sugary sweetness and spicy yeast. A bit of floral hop notes come fighting through.

T-Sweet candi sugar with a fruit bowl of apple, apricot and white grapes. A bit of yeast/hop spiciness smacks in on the backside to keep things from getting too sweet.

M-Medium body with a slippery smooth feel. Nice, long lingering spiced fruit esters.

D-Dangerously so! There is a reason why there is a three Stealth limit when drinking this at the pub. A very nice brew with lots of flavour, but not over the top. Hits you right where you need it. another stellar offering from SGB.

I got this on tap at the brewpub after freezing my nuts off that morning at Troegs Splinter Black day.

A: Poured a cloudy, golden, almost orange color with bubbles shooting up from the bottom and a nice finger wide white head.

S: Candy sugar, Belgian yeast, and tons of Belgian funk. It almost had kind of a "Sweet Tart" type of sizzle.

T: Same as the nose, but even more candy-like. This sugar definitely wasn't of the organic fruit variety, but of the dime store yummy junk food one.

M: The ABV was extremely well hidden and the carbonation was nice, if somewhat muted. Sweet, but definitely not too.

D: If Willy Wonka were to make a Belgian Tripel, this might be what it would taste like.

a: This was a cloudy straw colored yellow. It was served to me with a one inch frothy white cap.

s: Big aromas of candied sugar and some mild peppery spices. There is a little estery banana here as well.

t: Very sweet candied sugar dominate this one. There is a little peppery clove and some banana as well. The perfumed heat came on pretty strong.

m: Beautiful velvety body and lush carbonation.

d: Not bad, but too sweet for me.

On tap at the brewpub, 3/3/12.

Pours a relatively dark orange golden color with a large white head and nice lace. Warming and boozy sugary sweet aroma with potent peppery spice and light hops. Flavor is fruiter and spicier than the nose with the candi sugar taking a back seat. A slight, dry hoppy finish produces a clean, refreshing finish. Medium bodied, soft and creamy, moderate carbonation. An adequate, if forgettable triple.

A - A slight pure white colored creamy head... A vibrant bright yellow color... An undeniable haze permeates... Limited carbonation throughout...

S - Lemon scented Luden's cough drops... Pinneapple... Mango... Some faint notes of honey... Candied sugars... A faint whiff of Belgian yeast...

T - An interesting array of flavors... Lemon zest... A bit of pineapple... Some candied sugars... Muted banana... A muted spiciness... Some wheat like notes...

M - On the fuller side of medium bodied... Dense and a bit sturdy... Surprisingly syrupy... A bit on the thick side of the equation... Light carbonation...

D - A bit thicker and sweeter than I expect for the style... Formidable none the less... The 9% ABV is fairly well hidden...
Rather satisfying...

A - A bright and beautiful golden body with a slight cloudiness...a thin head develops and settles into a ring...not much lacing

S - Bread and yeast stand out...some fruits...and a slight alcohol aroma

T - Very sweet right off the bat...a big dose of the candied sugar...the taste becomes more complex with major fruit in the middle...a spicy bitterness to finish it off...the alcohol really comes out when the beer gets warm

M - Medium body that has a lot of complexity...you have to let it all mellow on your palate

D - Very drinkable...the alcohol is hidden well...a great balance between sweet and spicy...I will be having more from SGBC

Served on-tap at the brewpub.

A - Pours hazy golden yellow with a small film of white head, dissipating down to a light film, leaving no lace at all down the glass.

S - Smells of candied sugar, fruity belgian yeast, citric fruit, light spice and some green apples. There is quite a bit of alcohol burn on the nose once it warms up.

T - Starts off with a ton of sugary sweetness slowly giving way to hints of citric fruit, green apples, belgian yeast and some dulled spice. Quite a bit of alcohol comes through as it warms up. Finish is pretty sweet, lingering for some time after consumption.

M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Sweet, soft feel with quite a bit of residual sweetness clinging to the pallet long after consumption.

O - I have had this one quite a few times before and it was much better than this score would indicate. I will have to revisit this one in the future and give it another chance.

A - pours a hazy golden yellow with just a layer of fine bubbles on the surface

S - fruity aromas with a bit of spiciness

T - candied sugar and citrusy sweet with a bit of peppery spiciness

M/D - Definitely one of my favorites of their brews. Its just an enjoyment to drink from start to finish. Medium bodied tripel that drinks way too easy for my own safety.

This is a beautiful brew. Enticing golden color with a wonderful head that dissipates and leaves a very nice lace. The aromas are extremely complex, with some clove, banana and yeast aromas dominating. The flavor is astounding with a strong banana overtone. The mouthfeel is better than many in my opinion, because while the alcohol is noticable, it doesn't have the astringent qualities that normally accompanies a raw tripel. This was a fairly recently brewed keg. I would love to try an aged version and visit the brewpub. I wish this were available in bottles because it is by far my favorite beer.

Pours a bright golden color with a thick fluffy white head, that stays throughout most of the beer.

The scent is of citrus, yeast, and belgian sugars.

The taste is of very sweet sugars, lemon, yeast, and a noticeable alcohol presence.

Medium bodied, crisp and smooth, moderate carbonation.

I really enjoyed this beer, very good flavor and very easy to drink.

Sampled on-tap at Selin's Grove Brewing Company.

A - Pours a cloudy orange/tan with a pillowy, white head that sits comfortably atop the beer for quite some time, before melting into a nice lace.

S - Coriander (among other spices), yeast, and many fruits working together to fill the air. Alcohol comes through towards the end.

T - Sugary fruit and a surprising hoppiness balance out the creamy yeast & spices. Aroma carries through to the taste very nicely...alcohol is there, but you don't really pay attention to it, because the fruits cancel out the effects in the taste.

M - Creamy body with a slightly bittersweet finish...very crisp.

D - Wouldn't want to start my night with one...but the perfect ending. It paired very nicely with a piece of caramel apple pie.

I had this on tap at the brewpub.

Comes a cloudy peach/apricot color, with a one finger head of white foam that quickly falls to islands and a ring. No lacing on the glass.

Aroma is of pineapples, bubblegum, that funky/earthy Belgium yeast smell we all love, and alcohol.

Flavor is of pineapples, mangoes, sweet syrupy malts and unfermented sugars. Big time heat from alcohol. I'm only having one of these! There is, surprisingly, plenty of hop bitterness to balance all this, and indeed herbal/grassy hop flavor as well. There is so much going on here, it's tough to describe it all.

Mouthfeel is hot/sweet, kind of like habenero pepper jelly, medium carbonation, and a tongue searing heat from alcohol.

For the style, I guess you'd have to say it's a highly drinkable, delicious tripel. But don't be driving, or even walking too far, because you will be in trouble!

Hazy light orange color with a fine creamy head that dies down and leave a bit of lacing.

Spicy nose with coriander, citrus and toast. Similar flavors with an overall chalky character. A bit heavy - not at all bright or sparkly like some tripels.

Full bodied with very light carbonation. Overall, this tripel seems to be bogged down in its size a bit. Tasty enough and a good foil for the soft pretzel with spicy mustard.

This is another hit from the folks at Selin's Grove or should it be in Selinsgrove. The Tripel unfortunately is a seasonal brew so you can be disappointed on a number of visits. It is a beautiful, hazy golden color with a huge white head. The smell is hoppy and fruity at the same time. There is citrusy aroma under the hoppiness. The taste is a really well balanced Tripel with a great taste of malt, quickly replaced by hops, and then finally rounded off with a sweetness and an alcohol kick. It is a little thin in the mouth and with the high alcohol content, two is my limit.

I rarely leave the Selinsgrove Brewpub without finishing on a glass of the excellent Trippel

Served in a tulip style glass, a slightly hazy yellow, with a thin head, which maintains through most of the tasting. Carbonation is thin, seeming to rise up from only the center of the glass.

The aroma gets the mouth watering, yeasty, sugary, a whiff of the booze. Taste does not disappoint. Very well balanced. Have to respect the 8.5abv, but it's hard not to take this one on, so tasty. (The used to only allow 2 of these per customer, but now 3)

Overall, an excellent Trippel, and my favorite SBP offering. The missus even bought me a growler to take on home. Life is good.

First visit to Selin's Grove and really liked the place. The Triple was poured into a goblet and had a nice light orange/dark gold appearance with a frothy off white head two fingerwidths high. Smell has some typically banana, clove, spicy esters, along with a little bit more alcohol than I expected. Taste is what I expect in a triple, little bit more sugar and warm booziness than in some other triples I enjoy. All in all a strong representation of the style.

This beer poured with a golden straw color with two-three fingers of white head that left a nice lace. The aroma of this beer has a strong fruit characteristic with bananas being able to be discern, it also smelled of yeast and had a strong smell of hops. The alcohol content of this beer is cleverly hidden in the sweet malt taste mixed with fruit and ending with the taste of hops. This beer is very well balanced and is one of my favorites.
