In the basement of a stone house, right off the main strip in small town Selins Grove sits this great little brewery. Exposed stone, brick and wood coupled with the dim lighting, wooden tables and old hearth provides one of the coolest, natural atmospheres in all of my beer travels.

8 or so beers on tap, 2 on cask and one on nitro at most times. The IPA and the seasonal fruit beers are not to be missed. Most others are true to style with nice little twists. 2oz, 4oz, 8oz small pours available for most brews 14oz or 16oz depending on the style for a full pour. Growler fills available on most brews. Prices were great for the beers with only 2-3 special items being more than $5.

Food list made up of mostly sandwiches and other small items. A great cup of vegetarian chili to please even the stingiest carnivore. Fresh deli meats and fresh breads make for great sandwiches, no matter which of the dozen or so you choose from. Service was good.

Atmosphere and brews alone make this well worth a day trip from anywhere in PA.

Stepping into the past is what it's like to eat and drink here. You can just imagine candles burning brightly as plans for the American Revolution are laid out with good food and grog. We did a beer samples and finished the evening with a chocolate dessert and some great beers.

I love this place. In the basement of a 200 + year old mansion. Great little patio with torches and hops growing on a trellis in the summer. And the beer is always top notch. They make some wonderful sours and darks.

Stopped here last night on my way up to Rochester. Only had one beer, the Framboise, which was amazing. I really wanted to try more beers (and they're all available as 4-oz pours for $1-2) but since I was driving it'll have to wait for another time. Didn't try any food but people seemed to be enjoying it. Located in a rustic, historical building. I can't wait to stop again and sample more of their beers.

There's a reason this is THE place to be, and it starts with the atmosphere and ends with the menu. By far the best place in the area to get a drink.
