The first bar from the peeps that brought us Libertine on Greenville Ave. A nice shot gun bar with dark woods and low light that create an excellent atmosphere down in the Expo Park hood. Parking is usually plentiful and somewhat monitored. They have a small 'patio' area out front for the more seasonal days. Meridian also has a pretty strong smoke diffuser system, to where unless you're sitting up stream you probably won't notice and you typically don't smell like an ash tray when you leave. The food is above bar food and very reasonably priced, reason alone to frequent.

The beers are average by Dallas standards as they usually have the cream of what we can get, sticking primarily with Belgians and Belgian styles. They have about 12 draught lines (Stella, Hoegaarden, Maredsous, Franziskaner Hefe, Gunniess, Boddintons, Afflagem blonde, Ace, and Bass. from memory) with one to two devoted to monthly rotators (Breckenridge IPA and St. Arnolds Christmas at present.) The bottle selection is decent and rotating as well, but pretty well stocked and restocked. They have a bottle collection on the top of the bar which is a bit misleading as its more about what they've HAD than what they HAVE.

They have some pretty decent specials, Happy hour at I think a buck off draughts. Mondays half price draughts, Wednesday half price food (good luck finding a table.) Scaryoke every Thursday after 10pm which usually packs them in. Friday, Saturday nights are hit or miss on crowds, but you'll usually find a pretty mellow laid back bar on those and most nights. Very rare that I've been there in the 7 years I've been going has it been a bar where you have to beg for a drink or fight for a spot at the bar. Bar staff is typically excellent and conversational and you're likely to see one of the owners there every night of the week.
