Poured from a growler into a Chimay chalice. The growler was filled at the brewery only a few hours ago.

Appearance: Pours a light rust/copper color. Very light color, lots of light getting through. The deep copper color concentrates in the center of the glass, and almost clear around the edges. A thin layer of white head forms on the pour, then fades to a few wisps. A nice ring of foam clings to the glass. Lots of bubbles attached to the glass, reminds me of sparkling wine.

Smell: A definite fruity sweetness here, sour as well. The sweetness reminds me of processed strawberries, and the tartness comes from mouthwatering cranberries. Lots of fruity and citrus aromas, almost like a freshly cut orange. There are herbs in there as well, sage, and ground pepper.

Taste: A bitterness comes through, could be from some hops, but it fades quickly. Some nice citrusy flavors in there too. A nice herbal flavor comes up, sage and pepper. The tartness takes over from there. A nice fruity flavor from the cranberries, it is very tart, almost sour, and adds a great aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Light body, medium carbonation. The carbonation feels great, the body is nice and thin, finishes very clean.

Overall: The cranberries erase the initial bitterness, leaving a nice crisp aftertaste. Nothing really overpowering here, and the tartness from the cranberries and sage go extremely well together. I had it on tap, then went back the next day to fill up a growler.
