I had this beer in February 2024, which I purchased from Nardi's Cellarbrations in Geelong in October 2023. The beer had a light golden/straw-coloured yellow appearance, with a thin rim of head around the edge of the glass, and a few large, slow-moving bubbles were seen in the glass.

The aroma was a perfumey mix of yeast, wheat, coriander, musk, and overripe orchard fruit, which was unique and absolutely intriguing. The taste profile had an obvious hit of wheat and hay, followed by a dominant spicy coriander bubblegum flavour that lingered long, especially retronasally. The beer had a zingy freshness with a touch of apricot, which gave a sherbet-like impression to the taste profile. I added the sediment from the bottle halfway in, and that coriander bubblegum note was overtaken by a sharp, citrusy lemon note, further dialling up the beer's fresh zing.

The mouthfeel was light and smooth, with that sherbet-like zing adding complexity. Overall, it was a delightful beer, unlike any Wit I've had before, and I would love to experience it fresh. Although I suspect a second glass might tip it into the slightly too-sweet category, I still loved it and would highly recommend it.

Cheers!

Again I face the classic problem of developing great yeasts for baking or brewing; but few national kitchens do both well.
I've had enough from Baladin to prove this theory of mine.

A few moments after the pour, Isaac Looks average, like a white wine; lacking foam and cloudiness of wheat. Smells are mute, mostly applies and pears... no banana like the Bavarian masters. Tastes are balanced, but far from interesting... although malt-heads like me could like the slightly sweet finish. Below average Feel in my mouth. Drank with appetizers and its sweet was not enough to cut through and cleanse the palate. Not likely to make it to my table.

I give good Overall Hugs to Baladin for being Italy's brewing pioneer commercially. But Belgian ales are tough to interpret. Saluti !

750 ml corked and waxed bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5%. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, large white head. The aroma is distinctly spicy and rather yeasty, notes of coriander, hay and citrus. Fairly light bodied. The flavour is medium dry and refreshing with notes of coriander (less prominent citrus), short finish. A decent enough witbier - but is it that much better than other witbiers to make the higher price acceptable?

Decanted from an 11.2 oz (330 ml) bottle into a tulip glass at Growlers in Tuckahoe, NY; production information not clear to me, but code stamp 020/180-5 (produced to expire some time in 2020?).
A: Pours a fairly clear, straw to golden color (although seemed to take on a chill haze as it poured), a one finger, white head, brief rim retention and basically no lacing.
S: Tangy/tart. Aromas of caramel, apple, pear, and cloves..
T: Sweet and fairly tart. Flavors of banana and cloves up front, but caramel, apple, honey, and pear all in the mix. Light bitterness, if any at all.
M: Light bodied with light to moderate arbonation. Very smooth.
O: A light, quaffable take on the Belgian Witbier style. Really, really worked with food. Light while retaining complexity and stood up to/complemented Carolina Pulled Pork extremely well. Really enjoyed it.

Basic subpar wit for the most part. The taste has standard wheat finish, with zesty grassy and spice notes. The smell is too strong on the wheat with hints of basic citrus following. The feel was heavier than expected, and seemed to detract from light flavors. But hey, the bottle looks neat!

o.k. overall.Quite different from the Belgian examples due to a more neutral Yeast.
The aggressive Carbonation makes this really hard to drink though.
