Received this as an extra in a trade with my boy in texas stumac! Thanks for the opportunity to try this local brew!
Can poured into a Sam Adams Laser Etched Glass
Appearance: Burnt Orange with a slightly khaki 1.5 finger foam head. Well carbonated, fair amount of head retention, lots and lots of sticky lacing all around the glass.
Smell: Can you say malt? An underlying grapefruit hop (probably cascade) presence but mainly all malt.
Taste: Malty Malty Malty, much too malty for my taste. I want a pale ale that is borderline IPA so maybe my opinion is biased.
Mouthfeel: fairly sticky for a medium / borderline full body beer. Lots of carbonation.
Drinkability: I'm rating it lower because of the full body and heavy malt characteristic. My idea of a pale ale is far from this but I'm happy to have tried it. Always good to broaden your horizons! Still a very good brew despite it not lending itself to my personal taste.
Serving type: can
