12 oz can into tulip. no canned on date.

A: a lot of haze on a orange/blond body. head is bright white and bubbly. way too much haze for the style.

S: a slight oxidation. a lot of chewy pilsner malt. a little bit of sweet, bubblegum-like fruitiness.

T: similar to the nose, an obvious oxidation, but not to the point of un-drinkability. some grain. certainly in the finish. very limited bitterness.

M: average carb on a light body.

D: all-in-all not too shabby. eliminate the haze and the oxidation and you have a solid drinkable blond from this Texas brewery.

Busternuggz scored this in a trade.

This beer is way too dark to be a blonde. More of a light amber. Toasty, sweet hazelnut, and honey in the nose. Similar taste, very much like a bizzare amber. The dry, toasty, hazelnut finish lingers long after you swallow. Very unexpected flavors in this beer. Pretty nice.

Pours a golden orange with a nice, one-finger white head. The beer is slightly hazy. The aroma is wheat, lemon, malt and some honey. The flavor is very nice, with some citrus and honey and biscuit malt. I also get a little caramel characteristic in the flavor. The mouthfeel is medium and very creamy. Medium carbonation. A great blonde ale and it is nice to see a brewery actually try and pack flavor into a beer of this style, instead of just brewing a watered-down beer, calling it a blonde ale and targeting BMC drinkers.

Taken from notes 11NOV2010

Can purchased from Homewood Whole Foods and poured into a pint glass.

The creamy mouthfeel on this bubblegum bomb make for one easy drinker. "Clarity is over rated" on the back the can doesn't lie.

Not the quintessential blondie, but damn drinkable.

Poured into a pint glass pale straw yellow with a nice thick white head. Lacing all the way down the glass. Smell is very fruity, suprisingly strong. Taste is very malty, with hints of various fruit flavors. The hop bite at the end leaves a slight dry feel, which is the only downer. This is going to be a great Texas Summer beer.

I didn't know what to expect from a Texas Blonde ale, but this one pours a slightly hazed honey golden hue with a bright white head. Aroma is pretty mellow layers of grassy herbal hops and sweet honey drizzled bread notes. Flavors more grassy herbal hops lending a slight bitterness with a nice honey dipped breadiness full all grain malts going on. No rough offness just a clean drinkable golden ale. Satisfying maltiness and even carbonation with a light to medium body straight from the can into my favorite mug. Overall experience so far with these Texan canned beers have been nothing but positive, if you see them grab some especially fresh pale ale or any form of the Buried Hatchet Stout.

12 oz can served in a pint glass.
Light amber color; hazy; with a semi-durable head.
Light, watery body with medium carbonation.
Somewhat unappealing aroma with a better flavor.
Still very light flavoring. light citrus. Really needs more malt.
O: no reason to recommend this beer.

Received as an extra in a trade with screach. Thanks for the chance to try another craft beer in a can, and another Texas brew.

Appearance- Poured pretty aggressively into a pint glass, Bombshell Blonde produces a very sexy, 2-finger cream colored head that stuck around for quite awhile before settling into a comfortable 1/2 finger of creaminess a top the body. Beautiful lace left behind, especially on the second half of the glass. The body itself is a full, dirty blonde hue. A very good looking beer.

Smell- The sweet aroma of the Vienna/American malts are quite pleasing. There's also slight citrus notes resting on top of some biscuit aroma. Not very overpowering, but a nice combination nonetheless.

Taste- Pretty straight forward biscuity goodness with a kiss of floral hops and nuttiness. Not very complex, and I don't really want it to be. It quenches my thirst and is malt forward in the right way. It almost reminds me of a blonde take on a nut brown ale.

MF- Much creamier than I'd expect from a blonde ale, but that is a good thing. Nice middle ground carbonation, and finishes slightly dry.

Drinkability- Not my favorite style, but I'll be damned if I couldn't drink a lot of this on a hot day, or even right now sitting in a 68 degree house. It doesn't taste or smell as good as a kickass IPA or RIS, but that shouldn't be what it's held up against. It's a blonde ale, and I can't think of another beer of the same style that I'd rather have. Great job Southern Star.

The color is a hazy though somewhat less hazy than expected blonde (yes) yellow. A small white head forms and has fairly good staying power before fading to a sturdy foam. Light to moderate lacing is left behind.
A distinct herbal note is the first smell I notice, followed by a light honey-like sweetness mixed with a distinctive yeast note and rounded out by a fresh hops, then finished off by a balancing malt it. I could do with a little more strength and something about the yeast threw it off. Otherwise it's quite good.
The taste follows suit, with the hops making for a heady herbal, earthy flavor. The honey-like sweetness takes a moment to come out but lingers for a good, long time. Like the smell, it's tasty and well-rounded and would be better if it was stronger. The flavors are there, but I'm just on the verge of calling it "flavorful."
As claimed, this beer does have a smooth, creamy body, light to medium in depth with a nice nip of crispness to it.
There's plenty of drinkability to this one, though if it was stronger I'd be more inclined to it. All round a tasty brew, though.
