S bread like smell with a dank-banana aroma
T musky taste up front then to bread then lingering alcohol, bubbles throughout
O overall i feel this beer is great for someone who is not familiar with craft beer and is transitioning from adjunct lagers to the craft world. I feel I could use more malt to balance the back ends excitement.

Poured into a Darkness goblet on 8/12/11

Pours a pretty honey colored orange yellow with a solid finger and a half of foamy white head. Nice appearance but I would like some more lacing.

Smells of sweet malt with a yeast backbone and a nice slap in the face of citrus hops. This is a great blonde, I cant complain about the smell.

Taste is very light on the pallet. A little bit of the sweet malt and some yeast flavors but it hits off with a honey lemon flavor that dominates. I would like some more malt sweetness but it is a great summer drinker.

Mouthfeel is light in the weight and has little or no carb or hop bitter characteristics.

Overall this is a great Blonde. Very well balanced and the citrus flavor makes it a great summer sipper..

Appearance-Hazy light brown, some yellow as well. 1 Finger white head with dissipates pretty quickly.

Smell-Sweet honey, light caramel. I get some banana. Very subtle.

Taste-Wasted expecting it to taste this good. Black peppered honey. Nice malt balance. Caramalized bananas. Good clean flavors. Very sweet upfront but doesn't overpower the beer.

Mouthfeel-Extrememely Smooth and Refreshing. So easy to drink, really coats the mouth. Perfect carbonation with some nice body. Not watery at all compared to other Blonde's.

Overall-This is kind of a hybrid between a Hefeweizen and a Blonde Ale. Love the fact that it's canned, and a 7.99 six pack is great for a summer beer.

A - Pours a cloudy golden orange. has a thick off-white head that lingers with high volume for a while and is gone in almost an instant..

S- In the nose there are notes of honey, chamomile, and dates and a slight undertone of banana. A very sweet nose with moderate bitterness from the hops.

T - Taste like bananas and honey and mild bitter hops with undertones of apple and sour strawberries. Lots of fruit flavors in the taste.

M - Mouthfeel is medium bodied, smooth and slick. Moderate carbonation and a soft feel.

O - As drinkable as it gets. Balanced taste, pleasing mouth feel, moderate ABV. A damn good session beer. Worthy of multiple purchases.

A thick and murky amber-gold pour with a creamy head. Bits of would-be sediment float motionless, only a wispy collection of which few make it to the bottom on the glass. This isn't a beer that advertises too much with it's aroma. Pleasant smelling, but a bit weak.

Sweet, bready malts dominate the profile. Just enough faint hops to keep you from asking questions.

Mouthfeel and drinkability are both top-notch. Smooth, silken texture that sticks around just long enough to show off a pleasantly sweet aftertaste.

a pleasant surprise of a brew with a nice bellowing head of ivory and a body of cloudy gold. this beer has sediment and you can drink it clear or cloudy... there is a lot of esters in the cloudiness... but the yeastiness does get a bit overboard. smell of zucchini bread and very delicate pineapple fruit. palate is not as exciting. fruit is subdued by yeastiness and the bitter is finish has a straw must to it. not bad. the infiltered aspect is a saving grace for the ester and gentle body... a bit too gentle at times.

Busternuggz scored this in a trade.

This beer is way too dark to be a blonde. More of a light amber. Toasty, sweet hazelnut, and honey in the nose. Similar taste, very much like a bizzare amber. The dry, toasty, hazelnut finish lingers long after you swallow. Very unexpected flavors in this beer. Pretty nice.

Big thanks to Rbald42 for sending me this beer. Great guy.

Pours from the can with a big fluffy white head that hangs around for quite some time. The beer was a touch darker than I had expected. A light amber color with lots of gold highlights. Kind of a dull finish. Clinging lacing everywhere.

Aroma is a dough, light malt with a lot of yeasty notes.

Flavor does follow the aroma and was doughy to me. Almost undercooked...(tasting) There is a yeast flavor and a little chalk. A touch grassy.

Body is light again a little chalk grit.

Drinkable but not complex. You don't beg for another. Lawnmower beer.

Glad I had the opportunity to try this.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into my Dogfish shaped pint glass. Pours a cloudy pale gold color with a big fluffy two inch white head. The head settled out but left pretty good lacing on the sides.

The aroma has a moderate bready, grainy malt smell to it with a little citrus and a slightly spicy/herbal aroma from the hops. The taste is malty and slightly sweet with some caramel and bready flavors.

The mouthfeel is on the lighter side with moderate carbonation. Drinkability is pretty good, the Vienna malt added a nice flavor to it that I enjoyed. It's definitely different then any other American Blonde that I have had before, but it was pretty good.

A fine Blonde ale with medium sweetness, English-like fruitiness, and a bit of kettle caramelization.

A very delicate and very pleasant floral, ester mix gives the impression of honey suckle and bubble gum. The beer seems to have a part Pilsner, part 2-row malt aroma along with a lot of fruitiness. Pears, apricots, and apples come to the forefront while the sweeter malt components and caramels follow closely behind. Soft herbal hops leave the nose a bit underwhelming.

I like the jab on the back of the can that says, "Clarity is overrated". I do agree but it makes this beer a bit less bright, thus less attractive than Blondes are noted. Caught somewhere between golden and straw, the beer starts with a stark white head that fades to a trace then remains. Slight lacing on the glass is a plus.

Even more fruity and sweet to taste than the nose suggested. An dominant green and red apple flavor makes me think there's some yeast issues going on here. Timid on attenuation, the beer remains sweet and less clean than refreshing. Mild hops struggle to offset the sweetness and offer slight herbal and floral taste.

The beer is a bit bigger than the crisper versions of Blondes that appeal to me. The extra sweetness and fruitiness proves to much in the end. Thanks Exiled!

A- A full frothy head of white. Leaves some nice lines and pocadots of lacing. The color of the beer is very pale orange.

S- Pale malt smell. Maybe a touch of corn, but maybe that's just my imagination. It's an aroma of refreshment.

T- Just like the smell, the taste is refreshing, mostly some pale breadiness. But there is balancing bitterness- earthy and works well with the other flavors.

M- Refreshing, lingers just long enough to enjoy before the next quaff.

D- I like it. An easy drinker. Doesn't make you think. A def summer beer.

Thanks to screach for tossing in another canned extra from this brewery.

Pours a golden color with at least two fingers of fluffy head, fades at a slow rate, lots of floaties in the glass, as the can says, "Clarity is overrated."

The smell is almost nonexistent, I can barely make out even the sweet malt.

Taste is light and crisp yet also has a soft edge to it, carbonation is good, mostly sweet malt with a hint of citrus, a good smoothness to it, slight bitterness in the aftertaste.

Not usually a fan of blonde ales but I'd say this is one of the better ones I've had.

Pours a nice 1 finger head with great retention and a cloudy yellow color. I think yeast is still in the can.

Smell is of some citrusy hop with a bit of a honey malt characteristic underneath.

Taste has a low bitterness with a touch of honey malt sweetness, spicy hop flavor and some good aroma to add to it. Sort of like an extra pale ale in terms of body, sweetness, and hop flavor without too much hop bitterness. That being said there is a tiny hint of fusel alcohols in this beer.

This beer leaves a bit too much body on the palate for a blonde ale.

As the beer warms the grainy/grassy notes come out which I expect in a blonde ale.

Not bad. The beer has an interesting honey malt sweetness and a good hop flavor and aroma. However, there is a bit of fusel alcohol in this one which is sort of a turn off in a beer this light.

A- Solid looking, unfiltered, deep golden body with an impressive film of head leaving sheets of big-bubbled lace.

S- Gentle, lightly nutty and grainy. Hints of caramel and butter on top of carbonation

T- Very smooth, light malt flavor with a decent pinch of bitter hops. Hop flavor and aroma is minimal but does have a fresh feeling to it. Caramel and butter become more noticeable as the beer warms

M- Very substantial for a blonde ale. Carbonation is moderate and pinches a bit.

This beer is pale gold, appropriate for the style, with a large very fluffy, not dense head. Good head retention, though it falls eventually. The nose offers plenty of malt, light and sweet and not at all grainy, with a hint of fruitiness. The flavor is solidly malty, and lies on the sweet side of things. Bitterness is low and hop flavor nonexistent. A little fruity at the finish.

One of the better blonde ales I've had, though it's not a style I seek out. The bready maltiness makes it a step above most grainy offerings.

A: The beer is relatively clear yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of sweet malts and soda bread are present in the nose.
T: a The taste is similar to the smell and also has notes of doughy bread.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink and is quite flavorful for a blonde ale, making it a good representation of the style.

12 oz can.
A: Aggressive pour into a Southern Start pint glass. Good carbonation. Not too much. One half inch head quickly receding into a partially covered surface. Small amount of lacing on side of glass that disappears quickly. Medium golden amber color. Unfiltered and a bit cloudy.
S: Small amount of malt, bread note and barely detectable hops.
T: Light tasting. Tastes just like it smells.
M: Light and creamy with a smooth crisp finish and just a slight bitterness.
O: The gateway beer into the Southern Star craft brewery. Its nice. Certainly nothing out of place here. Very balanced. Could be a good choice for the beach or pool.

Blonde Ales are not usually something I drink but I found I really enjoyed this one. It poured a golden amber with a big frothy white head and plenty of fruity malt in the aroma. For a lighter beer it had a nice full creamy mouthfeel with hints of fruit and apricot that I found appealing. This is not a complex in your face beer, but something that is light and refreshing with enough body to keep it interesting. A great beer for our hot Texas summer days.

Good beer for those who like American Blonde Ales. I am not particularly a fan of this style but wouldn't mind drinking this one if there were no other styles available.

Good taste when you drink it but the aftertaste is not to my preference. The fact that it comes in a can is not optimal, I think that bottle would help the way this beer is drank.
