Can, poured into Founders tulip. Received in trade.
A - Medium brown pour that settles to a very dark brown color in the glass. Nice looking light khaki head. I prefer my stouts darker for sure, but it's at least a clean looking brew. Lacing is nice.
S - Pretty nice aroma. Nothing outstanding. Roasted malts, some caramel. Minor bright coffee is coming in. I'm getting a slight menthol-y note? Nice aroma.
T - Roasted malts, a bit of caramel. Not bitter or sweet, meets somewhere in the middle. Run of the mill stout flavors. Kind of reminiscent of a milk stout. Hits on the toffee note a bunch, which I personally like.
M - Knocked a few off for this category. Pretty thin in body and a bit too fizzy. For 8.25%, this could strand to be a bit thicker. Not too off-putting, but a bit below average for a stout this weight.
O - Pretty easy-going stout with no offensive qualities. I wouldn't turn one down at all, but I wouldn't seek it out. If you see it, give it a shot as a "start the night off" beer.
