Received as part of /r/beertrade 's BOTM for February trade. 12oz can
Pours a deep brown with a khaki head that dissipates fairly quickly. No lacing to speak of.
Smells ofCoffee, chocolate, and roast in the nose. A bit of caramelized sugar in the background as well.
In a word, taste is good. Like, really good. Lots of roasted malt dark chocolate and coffee.
Despite being 8.5% the alcohol is very well hidden. As it warms up it reminds me of a decadent dark chocolate (no homo). The wiv, not a fan of higher abv beers, is even a fan. We both agree it is like drinking a dark chocolate bar with 70% cacao. This is definitely a beer I will ask for in future beer trades I have with texans.
