Developed and brewed by Local Option Bierwerker, this pilsener was designed to deliver fresh German lager to American soil. What’s the secret you ask? It begins by getting a famous German brewmaster wasted on American double IPA’s at the Option, and then fooling him into revealing the most classified methods of making perfect Deutsch Pils. Consider this beer another victory for the Allies.

On tap at Biggbys Pour House.
Slightly hazy golden yellow in color. Served with a good inch of creamy white head. Leaves lots of lacing. Aroma is fairly muted, but what is there is clean pale malts and some light grassy hops. Taste is a bit more aggressive, with flavors of biscuit malt, white bread, a hint of toast, and a blend of light citrus and and grassy hops. Mouth is on the lighter side with a dry, somewhat chalky finish. Mild bitterness.

Served in an Anchor shaker pint glass at the Local Option.
Keep 'em comin', boys! This one pours a clear straw topped by a half-finger of white foam. The nose comprises light wheat, light grass, and a hint of either lemon or lime (honestly, I really can't tell). The taste brings in more of the same, ambiguous citrus included, but everything is bolder, more in-your-face. Nice. The body is a rather light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a crisp, dry finish. Overall, a straight-up tasty pils. No surprise here...
