A- Dark orange colour, nicely transparent, some carbonation bubbles showing up. Thin white head (at most one finger) but nicely firm and persistent

S- Sweet caramel malts, maybe a hint of honey. Lots of fruity notes also on the fruity side, i'm picking peach and pear. A light herbal whiff. Feels nicely plenty/rich on the aroma

T- Sweet malts as suggested, bready and caramel with a touch of rustic spiciness. A nice bittering herbal feel brings balance and leaves you wanting for another sip. Fruity esters as suggested by the aroma though not so bright, a touch of warming alcohol feel

M- Dense body as well as quite dense carbonation, very full on the mouth but somehow not so round, i'm feeling a bit of an unpleasant sharp edge on the palate

O- Not a standard tripel but overall a very tasty and fine crafted one

Hazy orange, small white head goes fast to sticky lace and some floating bubbles.
Rye pops in the smell, and green spicy hops. There's also caramel and honey, flowers, apple, apricot, some pine.
Taste is complex and has that specific Dochter van de Korenaar feel, with slightly smoked mixed cereals, some sour lemon zest, faint pineapple and unrripe orchard fruit (thus a bit acidic). Belgian yeasts. Honey sweetness, herbal notes, a bit floral, and lots of pine and leafy hops in the finish.
Medium body, kinda fizzy, but helps lift to the palate the spicy hops (+ the yeastiness). No alcohol apparent, but should be drunk carefully.
Tasty and strong, a nice mix of spicy grains and hops, might seem weird and off to people that aren't used with Dochter van de Korenaar brews. Not the usual tripel.

Pours dark amber with a small white head.
Nose shows caramel, bready malt and a cidery notes. Also some industrial booze.
Very similar flavours. Sweet malt, bready and caramel notes. Cider and industrial characters. Soft booze.
Carbonation is too high.

Glowing orange-amber with thin white film that sheets.
Deep honey malts, woody whisky notes and some spice.
Overripe nectarine, apricot jam, rye spice, some pine resin, and a big noble bite.
Grassy finish and fruity linger.
Medium to full, lots of chew, round, hot and sticky.

Way too dark and thick for a tripel, with no spice to cut it. The bitterness (I do get the pine needle aging) just about saves it. You could tell me this was a RyePA and I'd believe it - but I still wouldn't love it.

Quaffed a 0.33l bottle of this in my Maastricht room on 06Oct12 before heading out for some last night of the trip revelry....

It had a somewhat of a medium caramel color, with a little haze. Head started at about 1/4" and ebbed back a bit, to a thin, fine, light beige layer. Lacing was real nice! Nose had some candi here and there, plus some ripe melon. Was even a touch rindy. Body was medium, and it was creamy smooth on the tongue.

Some caramel was noted in the flavor, with a hint of rye-like spiciness evident. Had some fruitiness, but more spice than anything else, likely from the rye and yeast. Fruits which are present here are like apricot and pithy tangerine. Finish was dry and crisp. Decent, but a touch different from your standard Tripel. Prosit!

Bottle: Poured a cloudy bright beige color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of bready yeast with light spicy rye malt and some rustic malt notes. Taste is a solid mix between some spicy rye malt notes with a bready yeast with some fruity ester and some rustic malt notes. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Solid offering with multiple layers of complexity and original mix of different cereals.
