Appealing right out of the gate: dark amber pour with a half-finger high head that lingers for a long while. Ripe banana, clove, bubble-gum (familiar Belgian esters), caramel-esque malt; very light alcohol-fusels brought warmth not heat. Hoppy, slightly sweet, nicely bitter and dry overall – the beer felt bigger than the ABV would indicate. A real nice beer even though I'm not a fan of the style; hops and Belgian yeast don't play well with me but this is real solid.

Pours a cloudy, opaque amber, unfiltered, with a 2-finger head. Head thins quickly to form a ring a foam and leaves a bit of lacing. Smells of banana, apple, biscuit, coffee, citrus, mango, pineapple, with a boozy touch. Very malty. Tastes of banana and biscuit; caramel, chocolate, citrus, apple, mango. It's a bit boozy too, very slight bitterness, kinda sweet. Body is medium with light carbonation.

This is halfway between a Belgian IPA and a regular Belgian Pale Ale. Style aside however, it's simply a very enjoyable beer that goes down easily.

Poured from 22oz bottle into Orval chalice.

L-Semi-clear orange gold color, thick foamy head that disperses quickly leaving a thin white film.

S-Tropical fruit, mangos, apricot, slight hoppiness.

T-Initial sweetness, fruity hops, followed by grassy resin.

F-Slightly creamy, thinning on the tongue, leaving a residue of hop oils.

Well balanced between flavors and hop punch with a unique mouth feel. This falls in a spot between a Belgian Golden Ale and an IPA, a pleasant sipper.

22.4 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 5/2017. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon, tangerine, peach, apricot, pineapple, pear, apple, pepper, pine, light caramel, cracker, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and light-moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, tangerine, peach, apricot, pineapple, pear, apple, pepper, pine, light caramel, cracker, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate piney bitterness and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, tangerine, peach, apricot, pineapple, pear, apple, pepper, pine, cracker, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and light-moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitter/spiciness that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky, and lightly creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Belgian IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and light-moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
