I picked up this 0.33l bottle directly at the Brewery during a visit on 05OCT12 with Brabander. Best by date is July 2014; pretty far out there for an IPA. Have made my pre-storm preps, so time to quaff...

Poured most (save for a bit with some yeasties) into a small tulip. It's a bright golden color, still having a touch of cloudiness. Carbo is sparse and slow, and a hard-pour produced a fluffy, creamy white head of about 1/2". The foam slowly receded, with some decent lacing left behind. It has a good nose of some rindy citrus along with hints of jammy sweetness. Has a medium body, and is fairly smooth, with a touch of airiness present.

Flavor has little to no sweetness at all, just loads of bitter, rindy hop action. It's very pithy, with bitter citrus start to finish, along with a little herbal quality at the end. It's well made, but the lack of any real maltiness and/or sweetness doesn't quite cut it for me. Prosit!

very nice, fruity and floral IPA with a nice bitter kick in it.

aroma: citrus malt with Belgian spice

taste: grapefruit, orange, citrus and orange marmalade with spice. Quite floral and fruity with strong bitterness back of palate and in aftertaste.

Pours amber with a fading head.
Nose shows sweet grainy and hay-like malt, some soft Belgian phenols and sweet confectionery notes. A little subtle.
More sweet hay notes as a flavour. Some spicy and floral hops as well as a little honey. An assertive bitterness round things out.
Carbonation is much too high.

330ml bottle served in and ordinary glass.
Bought during a business trip in Luxembourg in one of the best beershops I've ever visited, the Mi-Orge Mi-Houblon in Arlon - Belgium (http://miorgemihoublon.be)

Enjoyed @ a hotel room in Luxembourg :/

A: Pours a nice orange to amber cloudy color forming a big and solid, and creamy white head. Excellent retention and tons of soapy and lingering lacings left in the glass

S: Excellent smell of fresh and flowery hops. Very citric, quite American profile. Notes of orange, orange zest and sweet grains. American style IPA with some touches of Belgian bready yeasts

T: Dry, grainy, crispy and bitter. Sweet pale malts. Fruity with notes of orange and orange zest. A bit bready with a huge hops bitterness in the end...

M: Light to medium body. Citrus hops bitter aftertaste

O: Excellent drinkability. Excellent IPA. Quite American to a Belgian IPA but absolutely recommended anyway

I had no idea what I was ordering in La Trappist, Brugge on 31st Jan 2014, but at 6% ABV this was the weakest beer on-tap and as I'd never had it before I chose to try it: glad I did.

I'm no expert on Belgian IPA's but this came across as a very drinkable beer indeed.

Came slightly cloudy, orange to light amber in colour with a good white head.

The aroma was floral with a citrus lead, pink grapefruit and something more tropical and sweeter.

The taste was also citrus led, again grapefruit came to mind, with yet again a sweeter feel within the flavours. The finish was leaning towards bitter, but didn't quiet make it the whole way.

Interesting and different, glad I picked it out.

Poured from a 330ml bottle into a Fullers snifter glass. BBD April 2014.

Pours a deep copper colour with a big white head.

Smells hoppy - fruity and flowery.

Tastes hoppy too - fruity, flowery, spicy, as well as quite heavy with sweet malts, and some yeast.

Overall a decent effort, a bit heavy on the sweet and spice though.

Puffy sticky speckly whipped cream head over ruddy gold.
Iodine yeast, orange juice and flowers on the nose.
Straight pale biscuity malts with some peach, orange hoppiness, a yeast hit and maybe a bit of tea.
Tangerine rind finish and aspirin linger.
Soft, medium, some chew, a bit coppery.

Belgian yeast, US hops, not much else. Real IBUs, but doesn't hang together. Simple to the point of dumb. No great shakes.

Bottle: Poured a dirty beige color ale with a super large dirty white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of dry floral hops with light fruity ester and some bready malt. Taste is a mix between some bready malt notes with some fruity ester and some earthy and dry floral hops with light bitter finish. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Nice offering though not something I would look for on a regular basis.
