Pours amber with a fading head.
Nose shows sweet grainy and hay-like malt, some soft Belgian phenols and sweet confectionery notes. A little subtle.
More sweet hay notes as a flavour. Some spicy and floral hops as well as a little honey. An assertive bitterness round things out.
Carbonation is much too high.

Served from tap into a Trappe Door tulip. Poured a hazy golden yellow with a two finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, banana, spices, sugar, and super sweet. The flavor was of sweet malt, spices, banana, sugar, and subtle fruit. It had a light feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. The aroma on this one was a little overwhelming as far as the sweetness aspect goes. However the flavor was a little more subdued. This made it rather enjoyable and easy to drink in comparison to the aroma. Definitely worth trying if you see it around.

Bottle: Poured a dirty beige color ale with a super large dirty white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of dry floral hops with light fruity ester and some bready malt. Taste is a mix between some bready malt notes with some fruity ester and some earthy and dry floral hops with light bitter finish. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Nice offering though not something I would look for on a regular basis.

Pretty good brewery. Tried several beers and I liked them a lot.
Liking IPA's , so i'm curious about this.
Orange colour. Fizzing beer, but a good head. nice lacing. cloudy as it's poured out.
Smell is fruity: apricot, mandarine fruit, clear pine as well.
Taste is bitterness, as expected, but not crazy. Spicy as well.
Overall it's a nice beer. Always good smell, taste delivers.

A: The beer is clear golden yellow in color and has a moderate to high amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a massive two finger high white head that has excellent retention properties and consistently left a good sized head covering the surface and rings of lacing around the edge of the glass.
S: The nose has a light but interesting mixture of floral and grassy hops, lemons and spices.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell and has some hints of herbs and a moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate with a high amount of carbonation. There is a lot of dryness throughout the taste, which particularly stands out in the finish and aftertaste.
O: The flavors in this Belgian IPA are very unique for the style. It definitely makes for an interesting beer to sip and savor.

I had no idea what I was ordering in La Trappist, Brugge on 31st Jan 2014, but at 6% ABV this was the weakest beer on-tap and as I'd never had it before I chose to try it: glad I did.
I'm no expert on Belgian IPA's but this came across as a very drinkable beer indeed.
Came slightly cloudy, orange to light amber in colour with a good white head.
The aroma was floral with a citrus lead, pink grapefruit and something more tropical and sweeter.
The taste was also citrus led, again grapefruit came to mind, with yet again a sweeter feel within the flavours. The finish was leaning towards bitter, but didn't quiet make it the whole way.
Interesting and different, glad I picked it out.

Picked this up at my favorite beer store in Belgium, Dranken Geers. Slightly hazy yellow-orange pour with a lot of carbonation visible, and a slightly off-white two finger head with great retention and nice clingy lacing. Spicy, floral, citrus nose with hints of grapefruit, lemon, grass, and pine with just a touch of white pepper and yeast. The taste is intensely bitter with lots of resiny pine along with hints of lemon zest and pepper. Just enough caramel malt to keep it honest, but the hops are definitely the star. The mouthfeel is a bit on the fizzy side with a great tangy, bitter, crisp, dry finish. Another great beer from a small, but impressive brewery.

I believe this is a new beer from De Dochter. I picked it up in a 33cl bottle from Dranken Geers outside of Gent.
Its see through gold, nice white fluffy head with good lacing.
Smells like a glazed bread, belgian yeasts, hops. More yeasty than hoppy. Tastes hoppy bitter, not american IPA bitterness though, grassy like rolling around in the yard, maybe a hint of metal , kind of a weird metally taste on the end but not necessarily offputting.
Its a bit watery , its not an in your face IPA. I would consider this XX Bitter's little cousin. Its a bit simple, the highlight for me is actually the yeast on the smell it smells really good. Overall its ok, a nice addition to the IPA scene in Belgium.

On tap at Max's during their annual Belgian fest.
The beer pours a light gold color with good head retention and lacing. The nose is pretty nice, showcasing considerable honey, vanilla and light butter. The flavor profile genenerally replicatese the nose, though there is considerable hoppy bitterness in the finish that surprised me a bit. The hops really dry out the moderate sweetness on the finish, though there's also considerable underlying spice in this beer as well. Mouthfeel is medium bodied at most, with a long, bitter, fairly dry finish. Alcohol is well integrated into the flavor profile and barely noticeable.
