A dark but mild ale that light will just barely pass through, this medium to heavy bodied beer has a light hop character so the malts can do the talking.

Also had this one at a bar however it wasn't on nitro which I'm perfectly alright with. Poured nice and dark with a thin head that didn't stick around very long. Smelled of bitter chocolate, roasted malts, and had a slight coffee aroma to it. Tasted pretty much like it smelled, mostly a good balance of malts, dry hops, dark chocolate, and coffee. The feel was typical of most porters, not overly carbonated so as to lend to its smoothness. Overall, since I'm a sucker for porters and stouts, I would definitely have it again and I would recommend trying it as well. Definitely worth it.

Enjoyed a 12 oz serving at the Superstition Blues and Brews festival 3-16-19.
Beer was served dark brown with a decent off white head.
Nose was mild roasted malts and a light touch of chocolate.
Taste was really well balanced between the mild roasted malts, chocolate, a light touch of coffee, and ample hopping to abate the sweetness.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and pretty smooth.
Overall a solid Arizona porter, definitely try it if you like the style!

Great body and mouthfeel. True porter style with complex flavor.

Well balanced porter and was the winner of the Great American Beer Festival for best porter of '98. High in coffee and chocolate highlights as a porter should be.
A must for an after dinner craft beer. Smooth and deceptive. You'll think you're having a stout beer ( can't mention any names )by the look, but the smoothness and deceptive appearance are there. Full body richness, with a nice creamy finish!!!

Served on tap in pint glass at Y'All in Rio Rico, AZ.
A very solid sessionish porter. The best of Barrio's line-up.
Head: light tan that dissipates quickly.
Lacing: minimal
Nose: slight roasty
Taste: Alcohol well hidden in the malts creating a slightly sweet flavor which improves as the beer warms.
