The 2010 Holiday offering from Berwick Brewing Company.
A-Hazed copper with a medium off-white head that reduced to a thin cap and held strong throughout and left spotty lace.
S-A difficult to ascertain, complex amalgamation of aromas. Subtle spicy notes with wafts of clove and cinnamon being most recognizable. Backing sweet caramel malt is present but is certainly secondary to the spices. Absolutely intoxicating.
T-Sweet and spicy with a building astringency and a drying finish. The clove and cinnamon combo is very nice. A subtle cherry twang in the background.
M-Medium bodied and somewhat sticky. This one starts to shrivel the tongue with the dryness...must be all those spices!
D-Wow...this is some seriously tasty stuff. Spicy burps to boot! An interesting holiday offering from the folks at BBC.

Thanks to Deuane for sharing a growler on 12/26/10.
A - Poured a clear reddish orange liquid with deep amber hues and a thin off-white head that dissipated to a faint ring around the edge of the glass.
S - Cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger combine to create a very spicy and festive aroma. Sweet malty notes of caramel and toffee round out the nose.
T - Initial flavor is quite spicy. Thankfully, a sweet malty character swoops in to add toffee and caramel sweetness. Cinnamon is at the forefront, while ginger and nutmeg take a back seat.
M - Light bodied with a syrupy texture and moderate carbonation. Finishes spicy with light bitterness on the palate.
D - Nice spicy holiday ale that isn't too ridiculously heavy on the spices. This one remains quite drinkable, despite its hefty 9% ABV tag.

Served on-tap into a standard pint at Berwick Brewing.
A - Pours hazy amber with minimal head that leaves minimal lacing down the entire glass.
S - Where to begin...Quite the interesting nose. Lots of different spices in this one to choose from. Clove, cinnamon, and other christmas spices seem to be the most dominate. A little bit of sweetness from the caramel malts and cherries help tie it all together.
T - So many spices in this one. Just like in the nose, clove, cinnamon, and other holiday spices stand out above the rest while the sweetness from the cherries and malts help to balance it all out. Spices linger on the pallet long after consumption. The 9% is hidden very, very, well within this very enjoyable spiced beer.
M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Fairly smooth fell with a spicy, dry, finish.
D - This is one interesting beer with lots of different spices interacting very well to create a very interesting and complex beer. The 9% ABV is hidden so well I think I could drink this all day no problem.
