(3.75) A: Beautiful clear raspberry colour with a thin head that quickly recedes to a ring. Satisfactory retention and minimal lacing.

(3.75) S: Raspberry jam, cranberries, dry woody elements, cracker-like grains, and orchard fruits. The raspberry is more of a natural and slightly sweet (jammy) aroma. The focus is definitely on the raspberry, with other fruit aromas that compliment it.

(4.0) T: Raspberry juice, grains, light wood, and tart cranberry. The raspberry is again the focus and it’s a very fresh and juicy berry taste. Other typical farmhouse qualities are a little difficult to pick out but the overall taste is very good regardless. A very pleasing dryness in the finish with a tartness and crispness throughout.

(4.0) M: Lighter bodied with a higher (fizzy) carbonation. The carbonation works well with the fruit focus.

(4.0) D: As a lover of the raspberry I have to say that this is very good. This would be an excellent spring/summer sipper outdoors somewhere.

A: The beer is quite hazy red in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a finger and a half high beige head that gradually died down, leaving a thin head covering the surface and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of raspberries are present in the nose—without having any sweetness or tartness.
T: The taste is similar to the smell and has a type of raspberry flavor similar to hard German raspberry candies (but without nearly all of the sweetness).
M: It feels very light-bodied (but not watery) on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is especially easy to drink and seems rather unique as a fruit-flavored bière de garde. I could see this as a good choice for someone that wants to try a fruity beer but doesn't want something very sweet.
