Yeasty caramel malty smell. A beautiful copper chesnut red-brown colour against the light, with a nice creamy off-white head. Head faded fairly quickly, with some lacing on the way. Mouthfeel is nice: velvety and smoothly sparkling, warm almost. Warming from the alcohol. Taste is rich, malty, lightly burnt caramel, fruity, yet somehow 'savoury'; some hops and bubblegum yeast in the finish. It's a very satisfying beer - like a meal in a drink in terms of taste and satisfaction.
B.B. "27.05.14 0:10" (I like the attention to detail)

Nut brown that goes chestnut in light and steady rimming creamy sandstone head.
Red currant and fig, sour roast, and dark toast on a faint nose.
Banana bread, fresh apples, and kola nut then mild grassy hops. Buttered brown soda toast and bubble gum yeast as it warms.
Coffee hard candy finish (bitter roast, sweet cream) then tingly linger that lasts.
Light, crisp, slight chew. Creamier as it warms.

Shows how meaningless the "landbier" tag is - this is just a Munich dunkel.
Lighter than expected, in both body and flavor profile. The right flavors, but only when it was room temp did it get doughy enough to be beyond decent, and by then I'd kinda lost interest.

Served in 12oz tulip. Poured a clean, clear, translucent dark brown color, with some reddish coloring, and 1/2 inch of off-white head that had moderate retention and very good lacing.
The aroma was predominately nice grainy malts, with some gentle hops in the background. There was also a noticeable caramel scent, which I didn't really expect, and I don't think goes well with overall olfactory profile. The beer was a bit bland at first across the tongue, then the caramel came on in the middle. The grains took a moment, but finally showed up all across the tongue. There was a nice little hop tang at the back. There was also a bit of a flavor that I'm having a hard time describing, kind of a funk, but more of a general "off" taste.
The body was light, smooth a bit thin, and had just a slightly sticky finish. Drinkability was good, but that off flavor, and the sticky finish kind of put me off a bit. Overall, a nice enough beer, one that I suspect would be better closer to the source. Still, probably worth a shot if you're in the mood for something lighter.

A clear brown red beer, an off-white head, little lacing, and small curtains.
Smelling of butter, boiled vegetables and syrup.
Tasting of sweet brown bread, brown syrup, oranges.
Medium carbonation, small bubbles, soft texture with a medium body.
A plain but nice German dark lager.
