Hazy light gold color, very thin off white head, thin collar. Aroma is tart, dry, grassy some diacetyl that presents itself as green apple. Taste is very similar: grassy, tart, dry and a touch of sour funk. Very light body, tartness is enjoyable on the tongue, light-medium carbonation.

Poured from the 25.3 ounce bottle with the swing top cap into a Belgian tulip glass.

The pour produces very little head and only after I more aggressively pour does it leave a half finger thick head that is fizzy and champagne-like and immediately dissipates. The liquid is copper orange and shows slight carbonation, golden hues and some transparency.

The nose is very sour and tart and there are some fruity notes I get immediately. The fruity smells remind me of apricot and peach and other orchard-like gems. There is also slight yeastiness.

Very little variation emerges on the tongue, but what I do get, I like. There's still some peachiness, but of the tart variety like when the fruit isn't entirely ripe. I do get hints of sweet berry in there as well.

I really enjoy the way this beer drinks. It's slightly creamy, alternately tart and bittersweet, and there is some airy effervescence in there as well.

This is a good beer and I could certainly enjoy it again, however, I have reservations about such a pricey beer that doesn't necessarily offer the complexity you'd expect given the price tag.

Pours a hazy, copper color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of liquor, wood, alcohol, tartness, hint of hop, and slight sweet malt, Fits the style of an American Wild Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is also a strong tartness and slight dryness. Tastes of tartness, hint of hops, slight liquor, slight wood, strong alcohol, and slight sweet malt. Overall, weak appearance, but good aroma, feel, body, and blend. Not quite as complex as I would have liked, but still well blended.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.

Pours a clear gold with a foamy bone head that fades to nothing. Tiny dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is sour with malt, funk, and vinegar aromas. Taste is much the same with sour malt, vinegar, fruit, and funk flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is drinkable but I am getting vinegar qualities in both the smell and taste.

an interesting beer, highly hyped after the reception of their kriek. from what i understand this is one of their first forays into wild ales, so some flaws are excusable, but this is brutally overpriced at over 20 bucks a bottle. at that price its a real letdown. blonde in color, clear for the most part, and only showing a half inch of white head that fades fast. a peculiar nose that is both tart and sweet, sweetness from the bourbon barrels i gather, but i don't get anything else from the barrel in nose or taste. first sip the huge body jumps out at me, its tough to swallow, being acidic and sweet at the end, its a strange mouthfeel, a little sloppy really, and just not that sour. all in all, i found this beer to be devoid of much real flavor. an introductory sour maybe, for those that don't like all the dry acidity, but you can't make an introductory sour cost so much, people won't go for that, as least i don't think they will, or should, i don't know, but i was unimpressed for the most part. exposed alcohol too, this may do well with a little age, but as it a stands now it is utterly forgettable. frustratingly costly and unremarkable.
