A- 16oz can pours into a stange glass with a deep black body. The cap rises up with good sturdiness to a finger high and a thick puffy consistency. Good head retention. A nice coating of lacing that is on the thin side but forms as wide sheets and rings around the glass.

S- For me the roast barley char and chocolate malts are immediately apparent and the strongest aromas present in this brew. Seems like it will have a good sweetness to bitterness ratio. Also get a touch of dark fruits, dark roast coffee, oak and vanilla.

T- The beer instantly brings that old school RIS flavor profile that is both bitter and sweet with a massive roast barley presence right up front alongside strong dark cocoa. The oak is rather subtle as is the vanilla because the chocolate and roast grains are just so big. Hints of booze, dried dark fruits, nuts, toast and caramel.

MF- Moderately heavy body and a texture that is somewhat silky and a bit creamy. Carbonation is on the high side and it ends with a roasty bitterness and some warmth.

A lot of chocolate. A lot of roast barley and a good hit of bitterness but never acrid. Reminds me of Brooklyn Black Chocolate in a way but with a bit more bitterness and roastiness.

Pours a deep black with a nice tan two finger head that lasts and lasts. Beautiful lacing.

Aroma of toasty malts, chocolate, coffee, oak, and a hint of vanilla.

Taste has big chocolate and vanilla notes, some dark fruits, mostly dates, with a nice oaky and roasty finish. Big tannins, moderate bitterness, slightly sweet up front.

Mouthfeel is slightly viscous though not syrupy. Great carbonation for a big stout.

Overall this is a tasty stout, compare with likes of Ten Fidy. The oak gives it an almost barrel aged character. Worth seeking out.

Blackish with a whitish-cola foam and substantial lacing. Smell is roast and woody, maybe a hint of vanilla. Sweet. Ok.

Um.
Malts. Roasty and dark and delicious with a little foam, then vanilla and sweetness on the back end, rich and chewy, leaving you breathing out a hint of oak and a warming sensation from the alcohol. Almost leaves a taste of dark molasses and bread. Wonderful.
