Big thanks to Tauroe for sending this one down! Reviewed from notes. Poured from 16 oz. can into a Russian River pint glass.

A: Pours a light bronze - quite a bit darker than expected for an APA. Hazy, medium visible carbonation, with a one-finger white head.

S: This has a nice, big nose on it. Pine resin, tropical fruits, citrus rind and grapefruit, a bit floral, dank and grassy, and just a hint of candied sugar sweetness.

T: Tropical fruits, melon, cat urine, citrus and spicy hops with some delicate light cracker malt and a bit of that candied sugar. Moderately bitter with some sweetness in the hang.

M: Quite full-bodied for an APA, with lots of carbonation sensation. The alcohol flavors are well-hidden given the hefty ABV for style.

O: This was pretty tasty - but I would have preferred different hop flavors. The Sorachi Ace is not generally my favorite hop. Still, it was a well-crafted beer, and one I would recommend.

Appearance: 1 inch head, high carbonation, gold in color, cloudy

Smell: citrus hops and pine hops

Taste: citrus hops and pine hops--light honey and malt to balance out the beer

Mouthfeel: sweetish start with a dry bitter middle and aftertaste, light body, medium carbonation

Overall: A nice dry and hoppy beer that is never overly bitter. One of the better pale ales I have had. I am glad I picked up a four pack of this and would get it again if I wanted this style.

Poured a month old can into a tulip glass.

Deep copper color, very hazy and dense. Not looking through this one. Head was deep, dissipated quickly, almost no lacing.

Smell is good-ish to great, I bet it's great fresh out of the keg.

Mouthfeel is near perfect for me, very carbonated. Tiny little bubbles.

Overall, this is a great Pale Ale. This is the taste I hoped for when I opened their "Can't Dog" last night. The two beers have similar qualities but this beer is much more balanced in my opinion. I prefer the more citrusy, hoppy taste here as opposed to the heavy malt in "Can't Dog"
