Our brewer's signature stout. Smooth, dark and a little sweeter than the Sea Level Stout. Original recipe, brewed by him with the ingredients he wants in his stout.

First had: on nitro tap at Three Tides, Belfast, ME

Smooth, dark, and sweet. Poured dark brown-black, opaque, with a thick finger of whitish head that retained well. (Love nitro.) Mostly roasty malts in the nose. Roasty, toasty taste, sweet caramel and semi-sweet chocolate, with a bitter coffee/cocoa finish. Full bodied and pleasant to drink.

Poured on nitro into a pint glass, the beer is jet black and thick, with a foamy, tan head that is thin and dense. Cream, milk, and dark chocolate infiltrate the nose in a very decent blend of aromas, with a bit of molasses, as well. Great cling along the glass while you drink. Flavors are rich and smooth, with a light coffee roast and milk chocolate characteristics, as well as a nutty, roasty highlight. Very smooth and creamy finish, with a coffee and nutty aftertaste. Very light and smooth in mouth.

Has this one a few weeks ago at Novare Res. 20oz pour into my chalice

A: Poured into the glass, looks like Guinness. 1/2 finger of creamy tan head. Insane retention - basically remained at this amount until the end of the glass. Random lacing throughout

S: Not much of a nose. Some malt and barley. Touch of oat in the finish

T: Seems fairly roasty for an oatmeal stout. Nice light oat flavor. Dry, wheat presence. A trace amount of bitter chocolate, which ties everything together

M: Super smooth and creamy. There is a bitter chocolate and roasted malt finish

D: Very good oatmeal stout. The serving style really helped this beer out I think. Was a little high on the roast for the style, but I'd definitely revisit

Served in a 9 oz glass at the brewery.

Appearance: A one finger mocha head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a pitch black color with no vision of anything. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Smoke, sweet and bready oats, roasted, earthy, a little caramel, and bitter chocolate.

Taste: Same as above with mild bitterness in the rear.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied, low to medium carbonation, a chewy, and light bitterness.

Overall: Pretty nice oatmeal stout. I'll revisit this one again if in Belfast or getting it on draft in the Portland area.
