Digging through my notes, had this at the brewery during the Pemaquid Mussel Festival.

Hazy toasty reddish brown colored, very light fizzy head.

Nose has some Belgian golden malts, sweet candi sugar, light spices and fruity esters.

Taste some booze, esters, light phenols, belgian yeast with hint of spices, fruit, dark reddish malts, almost berry fruit, earthy, banana.

Mouth is a bit fuller bodied, decent carb, some warming booze.

Overall not bad, typical Belgian tripel, decent malts and sweetness, fruits, Belgian yeast, etc.

My second bier of the eve (10DEC11), a 1/2-pint for $4.50. Bring it on, Seth!!

The bier in my glass this time was clear and medium-copper colored. The head was a thin and fine layer of white foam, with decent lacing sticking around. Candy sugar and tropical fruit notes made up the enticing aroma here. Smooth and easy on the tongue, and a medium-plus body made for a solid mouthfeel.

Light sweetness was evident first, with a touch of toasty malts as well. More candy sugar was present, and some tropical fruit action then surfaced, with a bit of mango and pear appearing. A bit of spiciness hit the palate in the finish, with a yeasty bite making things quite pleasant. Enjoyed quite a bit, thank you very much! Prosit!!

Poured on-tap and served in a tulip, the beer is a hazy, copper-gold coloring with yellow highlights and a thin, light, foamy white head with big bubbles and good cling. Nutmeg and clove heavy nose, with a bready and fruity background. Flavors are supersweet fruit, with heavy tang, and a good balance of spice. Very sweet. Rich aftertaste, but clean, with a fruitcake feel to the palate. The finish is slick and clean.
