September 19th, 2015 - Hangar 24 pops up here and there in San Diego, but it seems to be a little too humble and budget minded to get much love. But I had a good experience with my first beer from them and insist on trying anything new I see from them. The Polycot is a very blonde beer, almost bleached, with a nice high and clear apricot note. The fruit is a little faint and delicately placed, but let's me smell some pear cider vinegar, too. The flavor is blander, and has a little of that underripe apricot smell and a touch of wheat in the body. The aroma is much nicer than the flavor, which isn't offensive but neither is it engaging.

Just an average beer. I'm not knocking it, but the newer Hangar Recipes are just so darn good. This falls short of being a good beer.

Cloudy light gold straw color.
Musty estery zesty aroma.
Light wheat beer taste and a crisp finish.
I guess I don’t have much more to add to this review right now.

Consumed at the brewery.
A properly cloudy light lemon yellow with a fine white head that provides barely-there lace.
Fruity, wheaty aroma. Tangy.
Flavor is sweet apricot, soft powdery yeast and restrained wheat tang. Nice and balanced. Low/no bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with adequate carbonation.
A nice wheat wine with no apparent flaws.
