Poured from a 12 oz. bottle with no code date visible into a pint glass and get 1/4 finger of head.

A: Pours a dark amber color and I get 1/4 finger of head that is gone almost immediately to leave a ring around the top of my glass. There is a little lacing but nothing to write home about.

S: Sweet malts and the smell of nuts.

T: Taste of sweet malt a little bitterness and finishes sweet. Overly sweet.

M: Medium-bodied and carbonated. It goes down ok.

O: This beer is just ok. This is not a beer I would go to again.

Brown glass bottle (either 11.2 or 12 fl oz) with standard pressure cap served into an EKU 28 snifter in me gaff in low altitude Los Angeles, California. Reviewed live. Expectations are high; I quite like the style and the label intrigues me.

Served refrigerator cold and allowed to warm over the coarse of consumption. Side-poured without any additional aggression as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

A: Pours a one finger head of good cream, good thickness, and good retention. Colour is a transparent copper-red. No yeast particles are visible. Nothing strikes me as unique or special, but it is quite appealing. I'm excited to try it.

Sm: Toasted malts, caramelized malts, light chocolate, very light amber hops, and clean malts. A mild strength aroma, but a generally pleasant one.

T: Lightly bready, with some acidic tones. Imbalanced toasted malts. Some caramelized malts. No chocolate. Some light cream. Maybe a light raspberry ester - but only a hint. The body isn't full. Clean. Simple, but not bland. Balanced decently. Built pretty well. There's nothing unique or special here, and I wish it was more bold or experimental. I guess I like it.

Mf: A bit crisp, which doesn't suit the flavour profile. Smooth and wet, which does. It's awkwardly thin compared to its coarseness. Adequately carbonated. Strange.

Dr: Drinkable but boring. There's so much room for this to be good, but it falls short of its potential. I'd try it on draught, but this isn't worth getting again out of the bottle unless the alternatives are shite. It has some nice flavours, but it's just not as well built and balanced as it should be.

Nice amber color and lacing in the tall pilsener glass. Mild flavors with a touch of the sweet and sour that I associate with Altbiers. Very light body and the general impression is a lager gone bad. Murky flavors, a touch of roasted malt. Sprightly mouthfeel but just a dirty aftertaste with some hop bitterness. Slight beer smell. I think this one is just not worth bothering with, it seems to detract from the style. There are so many other pleasant beers with a touch of malt, like all the LTD lagers from Full Sail.
