22oz. brown bomber, awesome looking label art and no freshness date to be found. Labeled "Columbus IPA" even though it simply says IPA here. Poured into a SN hop tulip.
Look- Dark Amber and semi opaque. Big foamy slightly off white head that settles to about a finger thick and leaves a nice ring of lacing all the way around the glass.
Smell- A little earthy, lots of grapefruit, spice and piney hops. As it warms up this beer litterally smells like marijuana, in a good way.
Taste- YUM. Not a ton of complexity out of the gate as it's a single hop IPA but it's very well executed. Carmely malts, BIG citrus and a downright bitter dry hoppy finish.
As it warms a dank "herbal" taste comes out and it becomes more complex. It's excellent, I'd recommend drinking this a little warmer than what is typical for the style. Or better yet start cold and drink it slowly and experience the 2 different flavor profiles it has to offer.
Mouth- Just right. Medium bodied, good amount of carbonation (IMO). May be a little heavy on the bubbles for some peoples taste but I dont mind it. Doesn't have that oily feeling that some big IPAs have.
O/A-This is insanely good brew, and I'm happy they're bottling it now.

A: Amber/Copper good frothy head that leaves a nice lacing.
S: Smells like fresh trimmed pot.
T: Absolutely delicious. The bar tender suggested it otherwise it would have never caught my eye. Caramel, citrus, bright and clean.
M: Fills the mouth with a medium body. The cold half with the head was smoother, but it's always that way. Good to the last drop.
D: I've had no more drinkable IPA.

Growler acquired in trade with Hophead22 (thanks!).
Poured a medium orangish/amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of foral hops, pine, and citrus. Tastes of floral hops, citrus, pine, and caramel. Another nicely balanced IPA for sure!

I picked up a fancy growler of this stuff today from the brewery to bring home and share with my dad, it will only cost thirteen bucks to refill it in the future with this stuff now that I have the glass which I am excited about, probably the best looking beer jug I have seen with an embossed label, a big swing top, and metal handles, I poured this into my Hangar 24 pint glass with a mixture of an amber and dark orange color, 3/4 inch creamy white head that leaves a nice pillow and legs, good retention, aroma consists of piney hops, toasted malts, caramel, seems like a single hop was used since the aroma leans toward that way and does not seem to change in the flavor either, smells nice though overall and lets you know that it is bitter, taste starts off with a nice dry welcome, malt backbone is strong in the middle with both bread and very light sweetness, finish is full of pine and bitterness, I enjoyed the dry aftertaste, the taste of this brew is greatly balanced, dry, bitter, toasty, and sticky mouthfeel, medium bodied, nice crisp carbonation, taste lingers, could have gotten close to polishing off this whole growler because this stuff is really easy to drink, alcohol is well masked for a beer that is right around seven percent, smooth and refreshing, taste is both complex and balanced, very good drinkability, I have not a bad beer from this brewery yet, I just wish they would have been open when I was living in town, at least I can indulge while visiting now though, this is one of my favorite styles and they did it quite well, will be drinking more of this in the future, recommended

This is a great looking, tasting and smelling IPA.
Drank it at Tony's, where they have more than 12 IPA's on draft every night and the bartender told me that this is their best selling IPA along with ALeSmith.
Orange transparent with a big puffy white head.
Citrus and piney hop aroma.
Light fruit, citrus and pine balance the tight malt flavors.
A little too bubbly but great none the less.
Goes down easy, especially when its nice and cold.

Aroma:This smells really delicious. There's grapefruit, sweet orange, apricots, peaches, and cotton candy sweetness.
Appearance:Deep amber color with slowly rising bubbles. Thick white head with small bubbles, and excellent lacing. I think it may be a little dark for an IPA.
Taste:There is a huge hop bitterness on the foretaste. After a few sips, and my taste buds adjust to the huge hop bite, I can begin to distinguish other flavors. I taste the fruity hops on the foretaste, with apricots, peaches, and oranges. The flavors get sweeter in the midtaste, and fade away gracefully in the aftertaste. There are some harsh hop flavors in the mid to aftertaste too, probably because this is a single-hop beer. Underlying everything is a sweet malty backbone.
Mouthfeel:This beer has a medium-thick body, good carbonation, and some hop astringency.
Drinkability:I really enjoyed this IPA, although I think it could be called a DIPA without too much work, as it's darker, thicker, and hoppier than your average IPA.

Served from a growler purchased from Hanger 24. Friend brought it to our party.
A: Very dark, hazy amber. This is unlike your normal IPA. Looks more like an amber ale.
S: Smell of hops, sweet hops.
T: I was pleasantly surprised by this IPA. It was a very well balanced beer between the hops and the malt. But yet, at the end, the hops left a nice bitter taste at the end. Great beer.
M: Nice and smooth, but a little creamier than your average IPA.
D: Easy to drink. Could've had more than the two servings I had.
Overall: an exceptional brew that if you get the chance, taste it. You won't be disappointed.

Tasted this on-tap at Hangar 24 Brewery. This is a very good IPA. The color is a light copper; very standard in appearance for an IPA. The head maintains itself quite well. The most remarkable attribute of this beer is the smell, and it might be the best beer I've ever had in terms of smell. This guy has a very citrus and hoppy aroma - making for a very inviting smell if you're an IPA fan. The taste is pretty good, not the hoppiest of IPA's, but a very acceptable amount nonetheless. The fruity undertones complement the hops quite well. This beer feels a little lighter than many IPA's, but that is not to say it has less quality. The drinkability is very solid. If you are new to IPA's, or to hoppy beers in general, this is a great beer to start out with.

On tap at Tony's Darts Away and Bluepalms Brewhouse in CA
Weed beer. That's the defining characteristic of Hangar 24's IPA. I put this beer in front of people and I say "Smell this and tell me the first thing that comes to mind." And 9 times out of 10 its "Marijuana". This is a true cannibanoid IPA, which i think should be a subset of the IPA category. When the plant matter is so strong, and the floral aromas so intense, you cannot help but compare it to that other really well known herb. Fortunately this is also a great tasting IPA that goes well with spicy food or solo. Try it with a burger that has some hatch chiles on it and try to say it doesn't complement. I dare you. I find it to be a very drinkable beer as well, and would easily do a couple of these in a night. As it warms up, it loses some of that initial bite, and it goes from chugging beer to sipping, which i enjoy.

I've grown to love Hanger 24, probably because it's less than 8 miles from my front door. This IPA sure doesn't disappoint. It's definitely a hopped up west coast IPA, and tops in around 7% alcohol. The balance between the sweet malt and the hops varies from growler to growler, but I'd expect that as it's a fresh as it gets, straight from the brewery.
All in all, an enjoyable brew and perfect for a nice Sat. afternoon!!

Poured into a Stone Brewing flute glass. Pours a medium orange amber with healthy carbonation. One finger fine white head with lacing. Aroma of citrus hops and light malt. Flavor follows, citrus and pine hops, grapefruit, light caramel malt. Finishes with a decent citrus and hop bite. Flavors well integrated and the hops are nicely supported by the malt. Medium, somewhat creamy bodied. A very good, enjoyable IPA.
