Pours super pale, especially for a DIPA. Almost like a Pils. Very clear. Dense, rocky head settles at about a finger and retains well. Not much lacing to speak of. Aroma is piney, floral, nectary. No question about the hoppiness of this beer, although it's more floral than most hop forward beers. Malt isn't hard to find either. Biscuity with some honey. Somewhat spicy with a swirl. Light biscuit malt flavor starts things off, but is soon taken over by the hop flavor. Piney, resinous, vinous, like a bitter weed. The bitterness is intense and lasts a good while at the back of the tongue. Balanced feel, dry finish.

The appearance was the big difference with this beer. I couldn't believe how clear and light it looked. The aroma is very different from the flavor, in that it's balanced in the aroma, but it's extremely bitter on the tongue. Although I'd call the taste a bit of a one note disappointment, I still like this beer and would get it again.

Pours a hazy golden color with a tinge of orange with a soapy white head that leaves big chunks of lacing.

Smells of bright citrus an tropical hops.

Tastes of the bright hops with a solid malt backbone. Hops lead off with notes of grapefruit, mango, pineapple, and orange. Touches of pine and flowers sneak in. Hops give way to caramel malts which add to the fruits with a little syrup. Hops and malt come to a nice a balance on the end with a little spiciness coming through. Finishes with a touch of lingering sweetness.

Mouthfeel is medium-light with a smooth amount of carbonation.

Overall, this is a very nice DIPA which hits a lot of good notes. If you like a fruity and balanced DIPA, then this is a must try.

Reviewed from notes. Part of a H24 tasting at WF Venice.

A: Poured from a bomber bottle a slightly hazed orange with a 1" thick white head which left spots of lace.

N: Juicy tropical and citrus hops, slight sweetness, floral, faint pine.

T: Caramel malts, mildly sweetish honey notes, citrus and pine.

M: Medium body and moderate carbonation. Finishes with some bitterness and mildly sweet malts.

O: A big DIPA that packs a punch. Loads of hops and balanced by some honey sweetnees. Make sure it's fresh.
