Served in a stemless snifter.

Big thanks to SubpoenaDeuces for this bottle!

Bottle #1549/3495. So the name apparently refers to an aerial maneuver wherein the pilot brings the plane's nose suddenly vertical and drops it back down, all the while maintaining constant altitude. The more you know.

This stuff pours a deep black-brown topped by a half-finger of sienna foam. The nose comprises roasted malts, deep dark chocolate, bourbon, and light char. A faint whiff of booze makes itself known... The taste brings in more of the same, along with some molasses and the knowledge that that light boozy smell foreshadowed some major alcoholic heat. It doesn't detract all that much from things, but it does occasionally get in the way a bit. The body is a straight medium, with a light moderate carbonation, a smooth feel, and a dry finish. Overall, a very tasty barrel-aged stout, one that seems to be held back only by its latent heat. Given a bit more time (hell, I held off for several months!), this will probably be pretty damn fantastic.

2013 vintage.

Pours opaque black. The 1/4 inch tan head quickly disappears completely and leaves faint spotty lace.

The smell is of bourbon, vanilla, dark chocolate, graham crackers and pipe tobacco.

The taste is of sweet bourbon, molasses, dark chocolate and dark stone fruit.

The texture is heavy bodied and slightly oily with low carbonation.

This is a solid example of a barrel aged imperial stout. Not quite on the upper plain of heavy hitting barrel aged stouts but, certainly nipping at their heels. Lacking in the coffee presence of most imperial stouts.

Poured it in a FW snifter.

Overall- The smell is awesome. Bourbon, licorice, bourbon, oakiness.(Did I say sweet bourbon goodness!)
I was expecting alot of sweetness in this drink but its suprisely balanced. Smoky flavor, bitter dark chocolate, hint of vanilla. There's no trace of maple syrup whatsoever.
My overall rating for this beer is always going to be based on all bourbon-aged stout ive experienced. Parabola is my top of my list.
