Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a St Bernardus goblet. Bottle 5314/8856/ (No. 3, for whatever that's worth.)

A: Black and viscous with very light head. Impenetrable.
.
S: This smells so sweet. Brown sugar. Molasses. Boozy and harsh.

T: Too damn sweet for me. Hint of coffee on the distant aftertaste. Maintaste is raw, sweet molasses. Strong thread of booze -- no surprise -- and whiskey.

M: Smooth, thick, and flat.

O: Damn tasty. So sweet. The tinge of bitterness and coffee is so tasty.

Bottle #7575. Pours a thick, pitch black color with a medium tan head that goes down very quickly. Very nice looking beer. Scent is heavy with bourbon, vanilla, and maple syrup. Very sweet aroma with a lot of booze and some coffee. Very complex as it warms. Taste is pretty complex as well. Not sure why some people say this beer is one-dimensional... Taste has sweet bourbon with dark chocolate brownie flavors. Subtle vanilla and toffee with a good amount of booze. Lots of dark malt flavor with more chocolate and a bit of coffee. Drinkability is fairly high for such a huge beer. Mouthfeel is syrupy, but has a good amount of carbonation to back it up. Overall, this beer could use a bit of time to mellow out the booze, but it is also very tasty now. A very well-crafted BA RIS.

Bottle #7309/8856. Pours black-brown with a thin caramel head that leaves real nice lacing throughout. Bursting aromas of chocolate, vanilla, oak, bourbon, licorice and dark fruits, while flavors of chocolate-covered plum, sweet malt, bourbon, and roasted coffee explode on my palate. Maple syrup is evident throughout. Medium sticky mouthfeel. Great beer and I will lay my lucky few extra bottles to rest for some nice aging.
