Pours a slightly hazy pale golden color. A huge pure white head is quick to dissipate, leaving tons of lacing down the whole glass.

Smells of citrus, dry malt, and strangely a bit of yeast.

Taste is light crisp malts, a pleasant bitterness throughout, and a light citrussy finish.

Feels very light, but not fizzy. Easy drinking for sure, crisp and refreshing.

It's a nice light pale ale. The yeast is a bit weird, but other than that, it delivers exactly what a pale ale should be. Light, crisp, easy drinking, enough flavor to enjoy, and the right carbonation to make it not fizzy. If you are expecting/wanting more, go get an IPA.

12 oz bottle poured into a Sierra Nevada imperial pint
5.5% ABV, no date or info.

Thanks for the bottles, Tom!

A - Poured out completely, this bright goldenrod beer is clouded, slightly, by tiny floating particles and topped by a soaring off-white head. Sticky lace clutches the glass as the foam heads down with a slow descent.

S - Amarillo Pale Ale from Hangar 24 is openly hoppy with a bold resinous aroma, immediately suggesting pine cone and sticky sap. Plenty of malt follows through though, balancing it's forward aroma with earthy low tones, mild caramel sweetness, and a hint of pale graininess. While they call it a Pale Ale, candidly, it already smells more like an IPA in terms of hoppiness and perceived bitterness.

T - Smooth caramel and dry pale malt lace the beer with a good base. Plenty of hops come forwards, overlapping the malt with a light citrus, mainly pine resin kick that finishes with just a pinch of yeastiness (though probably from the sediment).

M - Moderate carbonation spritz cuts through the medium body to lighten up the feel a little bit for a crisp and smooth result. It finishes out with a dry and dry-hopped bitterness that lingers briefly.

O - It's always fantastic to experience a well-done single-hop beer that showcases what the particular hop has to offer, and Hangar 24's Amarillo Pale Ale is no departure from that. Sure, it carries itself more like an IPA than pale with it's potent hoppiness and lingering bitter finish, but the malt profile balances the lightly citrusy, pine resin-like attributes well.

Reviewed from notes. Part of a H24 tasting at WF Venice.

A: Pours a slightly hazed orange with 1/2-inch thick white head which leaves spotty lace.

N: Floral, citrus, some herbal notes.

T: Follows the nose with some malt and light herbal/citrus.

M: Moderate body and medium carbonation. Finishes citrusy and semi-dry and bitter.

O: Another easy drinking offering. Full of flavor for a pale ale.
