A - Cloudy dirt brown, reddish hues. Lots of small bubbled head, off white small head.
S - Fresh chocolate chip cookies, a slight tart twang.
T - Taste similar to smell, a little on the sweet side, short on hops.
M - Balance goes to sweet malt, a bit hot, good carb, nice overall.
D - One small one of these is good enough.

Take a doppelsticke, add a portion of stout, mix, then throw a portion of the beer in oak barrels, and finally reunite the two sides. Served on-tap at the source in a shortie during a 100+F afternoon, on to the beer:
Muddy brown colored looking almost like chocolate brown. A small head is formed on top, and some lace is given off as the beer is consumed. Smell that? Smells great doesn't it? Bring on the oak, toasted sugar, toffee, candy store aroma and your sweet tooth is bound to get excited. As expected, Tailslide does possess a sweet flavor, but not overkill. The oak, sugar, and bourbon notes are easy to spot, but keeping the beer balanced is a lovely toastiness which adds depth to the beer. This helps make the beer somewhat dry, at least compared to the world of barrel aged stouts which stick around forever. There's also a note of maple. With a full body and much of the alcohol hidden well, Hangar 24 hits the target.
Slightly different, and a great end result. Well done.
