If ever you find yourself on the road to Palm Springs, take a minute to stop by this brewery.

The wife will love it - it's a tricked out tasting room in a hanger - very clean, neatly set up, open and spacy with an outdoor sitting area, vats roped off in the back. Interesting turn on the usual tasting room in a warehouse concept.

I was there for their Polycot release, which was very crowded but fun (only negative was their cake, which nicely baked in the shape of a hanger with two bi-planes, but the worst, dry sugary confection I've ever stuck in my mouth).

Happily, the beer was better. I tried the Chocolate Porter, which had a distinct chocolate-coffee flavor. Medium body, no sludge overkill. Very good brew. Nicely priced at $5/pint. Several beers on their list were $4 pint, including their wheat and pale ale offerings. The IPA and DIPA were $5/pint. A flight of all their tap offerings (7 on that day) is $5.50. (927 characters)

The vibe at Hangar 24 is more than laid back. There's the obvious taps and beertenders that give you beers and there is a community style long table that looks like it could seat 80 people easily. It gets a bit crowded on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sunday during the late afternoon/night but it isn't a hassle to get a brew during peak hours. Their selection of beer is pretty nice and they have seasonal beers that rotate often enough along with variations of their flagship beers. Some of their other brews are just okay but their good brews are damn good. I come here often enough, solid brewery. (596 characters)

Did a sampler and a beer tour. Place was packed with a nice outdoor patio situated in an industrial park near an airport. Beers were good to very good. Didn't try any food if available. Luminous stormclouds brewed overhead so I left. Enjoyed my visit, but competition is fierce in Cali so I might pursue other options, although worth a visit. (347 characters)

I visited on the evening of 9 Nov 2014 when I was driving through the area. It happened to be a special event "Stout Night". They had a special sampler platter including a normal strength stout, a Russian Imperial and aged Pugachev's Cobra 2013 and 2014.

Atmosphere - 4.5 - The tasting room was hopping that night, with most tables occupied but it did not feel crowded. There was an outdoor seating area with picnic tables where a DJ or band was setting up equipment. The bar area had room for people to stand around tables. It was set alongside the working brewery with no barriers and had an industrial feel but was clean and neat. Brewers were actually working that night, which made for a cool backdrop while enjoying the beer.

Quality - 4.5 - All the beers I tasted were outstanding. They were obviously made with high quality ingredients and techniques by people who cared for their product.

Service - 4.5 - Even though the crowd was fairly large, the bar staff was well organizd and efficient, keeping waiting times to a minimum. They seemed knowledgable and peoud of the beer. There were also brewery tours that went every 30 minutes like clockwork.

Selection - 4.5 - They had 10-15 beers on tap, ranging from a light Helles Lager to an imperial pumpkin porter and RISs. Their normal sampler platter includes 9 beers! They also had growler fills and bottles available. The beer selection seemed to indicate the brewers have wide ranging interests in ingredients and styles and are willing to challenge their customers with non-standard beers. (1,570 characters)

This place is fantastic. The airplane hangar makes for an interesting setting, and the beers are fantastic. Everyone working there was very nice. Unfortunately I was only there on vacation and I don't live nearby! (213 characters)

This is next to a smaller airport/hangar area. Arrived just after opening on a weekend so it was un-crowded at the time. Smaller indoor tasting area with some perimeter wall space but mostly around barrels. adjoining outdoor but covered area is also available with an abundance of TVs and overhead spray coolers for hotter days. The occasional food truck, not on this day though. Dirt lot and street parking, ample in my opinion. Single use bathrooms male & female that open directly onto the tasting room... so lock your doors. Its nice that they have a single line leading into the purchase bar area as this removes all confusion about who was here first and which line are you in. Fairly efficient system overall. the only problem I would foresee is with colder inclement weather having a limited indoor facility. Google maps also had a hard time finding it as some of the roads are closed out due to ongoing construction (a year + in this case). Nice relaxed atmosphere overall that blends tasting room and sports bar atmospheres, especially when food is available. The tasting room also picks up the phone, which isn't the case with other tasting rooms. Hope this helps. Cheers. (1,187 characters)
