Inspired by my daughter, this farmhouse-style ale was brewed with spring flowers and matured in Sauternes wine barrels with a select strain of Brettanomyces. Cassidy is brewed each spring, bottled the following spring with honey from her Grandpa’s bee hive, and released around her birthday. Each bottle contains a portion of all previous years' blends. This bottle-conditioned ale is delightful fresh, and it will evolve beautifully as it ages alongside Cassidy.

500 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Hazy orange body. Medium white head. Very floral aroma. Some stone fruit and tropical fruit. Tastes like orange and tropical fruits. Floral flavors are on the fringes. High carbonation. Sharp finish. A little rough sourness.

Bottle share. Dishwater pour, a few bubbles. Nice peachy fruity notes , more sweetness than tart. Aroma is hinting at the pucker, taste brings sweetness, then finishes with a sour bite.

super cool idea for a beer, awesome art, nice execution, a solera wild ale done with wildflowers and honey and aged in sauternes barrels, how ambitious! i had no idea it was this strong when i was drinking it either, it hides it well, mostly behind sourness. just a shade darker than anticipated, bronze looking with a nice airy white head on it from the bottle. the nose is strikingly tart, i thought this would be more bretty funk than acid but they seem about equal, a light fruit vinegar element to the bacterial sour profile as well. i smell the flowers all at once, not perfume-like at all, subtle really, botanical and bitter, set against a slightly sweeter malt profile for a saison type, it works. hints of dried orange peel and dandelion flowers in the taste, maybe a light jasmine element too, but all combined i get wet animal, golden raisin, white wine vinegar, dried apricot, and apple cider, a ton going on, more fruity to me than floral but that could be in part due to the barrels and the brett. the sauternes is a cool choice, it makes this rich and regal, sort of decadent and over the top, its a bold flavor and it may come at the expense of the flowers a little bit, which are a little springy but more subtle overall than i was hoping for in this. its plenty complex though, effervescent in the glass, sour and funky at the the same instance in the finish, somewhat vinous, and overall very unique, one of a kind even, cool they put some of the old batches into each new one, a beer with a story, i love that. these guys continue to impress!

wow, really impressed with this beer, thanks a ton to nick who sent this to me since it was brewed for his daughter who was born the day after my son was born. the beer is really a masterpiece and a wonderful ode to cassidy. delicate with awesome sweetness from subtle honey notes, the flowers add a really nice element. soft tart funk glazes over the flavor. really great right now, psyched to see where this one goes.

Cloudy amber pour, with a well-retaining eggshell head. Floral aroma, wet wood, white wine, slightly cobwebby. Very floral and fruity up front in the taste, with a low-key tartness, lots of woody/earthy barrel quality, and a toasty toffee sweetness on the back end, which kind of makes sense, but also leaves an awkward aftertaste. Easy drinkability, especially at 9%. Very nice overall.
