I stopped by Publick House Provisions right after my visit to Craft. This is an excellent one two combo in Brookline. There are wall to wall coolers with quality beers in them. They have an excellent variety of foreign and domestic beer and lots of styles. If you are looking for glassware this is the place to go. They have a wall full of it. The prices are a bit high, but nothing that is too bad. The service was friendly and helpful despite it being busy. If I was in the area, I would pop here and window shop, but I am not sure if I would make a special trip to visit.

Publick House Provisions has a fantastic selection of craft beers. Lots of imports and hard to find domestic beers are sorted by region and brewer on the shelves and in the cooler. The do not carry any macro-brews and very few 'average' local/popular beers. For example, they did have the new release of Sierra Nevada Celebration but I didn't see any of their pale ale. There is also a small selection of wines available for purchase.
They also have a large selection of glassware to purchase. In fact, I was rather impressed with the amount of glasses they had. Since I was only browsing I didn't make a purchase on this trip and didn't interact with the staff. However, there were 3 employees on duty ready to assist customers with questions or purchases.
The location is conveniently located near the green line plus has lots of parking across the street. Although the store is rather small, they have a great selection of beers with fair prices.

Stopped in before visiting The Publick House....
Small, neat little place. The beer selection is solid, especially for a place the size of a living room. That being said, its a bit lacking compared to some other joints. I suppose the selection is still at least "above average". I dont doubt the potential to find a gem here now and then. The front of the store features two massive glass windows. Some of the beer is right up front, exposed to quite a bit of sunlight. Perhaps not a huge deal but certainly questionable....
Some of the bottle prices were a bit inflated, others were about right. I really wanted to buy a sweat shirt, but when the associate told me they are $40 I almost laughed out loud. The wall of glassware is a nice touch, but I didnt even inquire about prices after considering the sweatshirt.

great stop for craft fans, especially after nursing a couple good belgians at the actual publick house a block away (keep your receipt - 10% off).
great selection, not the best i've ever seen (relatively small store, you can only do so much), but very good: a diverse blend of american and foreign crafts with a few hard to find gems woven in. some good stuff from the bruery, stone, founders, dfh, north coast, allagash, avery, brooklyn, lagunitas, weyerbacher, and lost abbey, to throw out a few breweries; they also stock a bunch from the local scene... really nice belgian/trappist lineup too.
what gives provisions a leg up on many other beer stores (and why i up their selection score here) is twofold. #1, glassware. on one side of the store stand ceiling height shelves with an assortment of craft-logo glassware, from tulips and oversized wineglasses to chalices and standard pint glasses. and #2, the ability to break up 4 and 6-packs. always appreciate being able to mix it up and try several offerings without necessarily being chained to a sixer of the same beer.
service is usually great, especially if its quiet; the guys i've talked to knew their stuff. yeah, a bit on the pricey side but not outrageously so considering some other boston-area stores. if we were looking to drink cheap we wouldn't be into craft in the first place. bottom line: worth a stop.

Conveniently located next to American Craft, and just 1 block away from Publick House Belgian bar, this beer store completes the trifecta to make a perfect beer destination in Brookline. The store is relatively small but seems singel-mindedly focused on quality beers. Many, maybe most, selections were available from coolers along the entire right wall length of the store. It seemed you could get just about anything they had as a single, at least in the coolers.
The selection was strongest in American craft beers and Belgian beers, but there were also some top shelf German selections that I saw. You WILL find something you like here, and you might find something a little rare too.
The service was top notch, a rare "5" rating. Each employee knew the products and were very helpful with info about what was coming in over the next few days. A++.

A decent beer store a short walk from The Publick House. Lots of high quality beer - I was primarily impressed with the Belgian and US craft selection. Prices were a little on the high side for the greater Boston area, but not out of line for the neighbourhood. Full coolers line one wall, which is good, and the majority of the beer stored at room temp can handle higher temperature storage, but I was a bit disturbed by the late afternoon sunlight directly hitting many of the shelves at the front of the store. Personally, I'd avoid any of those bottles since I have no idea how long they've been exposed like that. Service was decent, staff was knowledgeable. I'll stop by again when I'm in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip to purchase beer here.

Located in a beautiful corner of the neighborhood, with a number of good bars a stones throw away. The selection of beers was some what limited, though there were a number of beers not seen in other stores in the area. I was looking for some local BBC beers that where absent, oh well.
The person working at the store was very helpful and knowledgeable. It was a touch on the expensive side but just walking around the area and that makes sense. I wish there was a little more room to explore there beer. A very nice store in general with a friendly atmosphere. The decor was very pleasant and brought a welcoming feel.

Found my way here late one evening after visiting the Publick House for the first time...and WOW.
Selection is incredible, and I love that they sell cheese as well - tremendous way to convince the lady to join me. Glassware options are tremendous, and the selection of unique belgian brews is better than I have seen before. Staff may be knowledgeable, but at this hour they weren't particularly friendly - they probably saw me as another acolyte. Prices however seem to be a bit steep compared to what I've seen - but selection creates that.
Altogether this is the place I compare all others to, and I look forward to making another trip up.

Nice shop centrally located on Beacon near the Publick House Bar and the Roadhouse. This place looks a little too much like a convenience store while the wall behind the cash register is the only facing that looks like a nice beer store. Selection was pretty good but didn't seem as expansive as I was expecting. They did have some Westy's on display behind the counter that I don't believe were for sale. The guy at the counter that helped me was friendly and you also get 10% off your purchase here if you bring a dinner receipt from either the Publick House or the Roadhouse. I thought that was pretty cool and hope that these 3 establishments continue to grow stronger. They definitely are worthy spots in Brookline to spend your time in!

Stopped by PHP today to check out their six pack deal. I love the look of this place. Wall coolers neatly stacked with well-labeled beer. A middle island filled with more beer and gourmet food. An exquisite cheese display. And the wall of beer glasses impresses any beer geek, for sure. I was allowed to browse for 10 minutes before I was nicely asked for any help. The six pack deal is a fun option. I got six different beers I was looking to try for $13, not bad. There are not a lot of cheaper options in this store, so come prepared to spend some money. But, you have to pay for quality, and this store has quality in abundance.
