On draft at the brewery.

Poured a deep brown hue with a half finger foamy dark tan hue. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured roasted malts, bakers chocolate and a touch of smoke.

The taste consisted of a full on roasted barley, maybe black patent, charcoal and a touch of lactose.

The mouthfeel was typical of the style with a pleasant carbonation.

Overall a tasty milk stout. This is the first installment of the Pro-Am series with my homebrew club LIBME.

At the brewery;

A - Cola brown pour with a beige foam that settled to a thin head.

S - Some cocoa powder, malted milk, and a lingering smoky scent.

T - I like the flavor on this. A light stout that has enough lactose and sweetness of cream, but finishes with a touch of smoke. A decent amount of complexity makes this a solid beer.

M - Dry finish, milky texture, and leaves a slight tobacco feel on the tongue. No carbonation is noted.

O - I'd like to see this some more. One of the better milk stouts out there and its made locally on Long Island.

swung by the brewery the other day for the dirty deeds release and noticed this beer available for tasting and pints as well. this is a beer from a LIBME (Long Island Beer & Malt Enthusiast) club. they held a contest and the winning beer was brewed at GSB.

decided to go for a few ounce pour while at the brewery for the dirty deeds release. brown to black on the pour with a creamy tan milk stout head. nose is milk stout with some roast. flavor matched the nose with roast and powdered chocolate and milk stoutiness as well as a mouthful of earthy malt. decent milk stout but nothing too crazy. fun to try these small batches while they are around though.
