Notes: Appears to be the same beer as the Elixer #1 but the #2 also has the Rakau New Zealand hops.
Pours a slightly hazy golden color with an almost non-existent wispy white head that settled into a light ring. Not much to the head. The cap seemed to come off way too easily so there may be an issue with that.
The aroma is of the NZ hops. Strong blood orange notes and candied tropical fruit. Solid bready notes from the malt.
Again, blood orange is the dominate flavor. Some earthy pine notes. A bit of peach and herbs. Light lemon lime notes. Good sturdy malt base.
Moderate feel with prickly carbonation. Good balance between sweet and bitter. Finishes with a slightly dry bitterness. Drinks well.
A good APA that showcases the NZ hops. I am a little disappointed that the #2 is basically the same beer as the #1. Not sure that the Rakau hops add much of a difference between the two beers. The carbonation was fine but I feel the head was lacking due to the capping issue.
