On gravity cask at Tap Room in Patchogue NY.

Poured a clear burnt orange into the pint glass. No cinnamon and sugar please! The aroma was of pumpkin pie spices and fresh pumpkins.

As with most pumpkin beers, this one had a very pronounced spice character, with nutmeg and allspice leading the way. However this one also had a good amount of actual pumpkin flavor. I'm assuming they use a good amount of pumpkin in the brewing process, from the taste of it. And it's this earthy pumpkin character that sets it a step above many of the other pumpkin beers I've had.

Overall I'd recommend this to anyone who's a fan of the genre, especially if you're looking for more of an earthy pumpkin essence to balance the usual pumpkin pie spices.

Growler filled at the brewery yesterday

Pour is clouded, dull, and lighter browinsh amber. Minor head, thin collar and some fine strands of lace

Nose that I get is some light toast as well as an earthy note.

Middle of road tasting ale, with a moderate at best pumpkin flavor component. I like a beer to taste like it is advertized, and this one could use a few more pounds of pumpkin puree. Pleasant enough, easy drinking, carbonation on point, but not a stand out of the style.

A - Pours orange with no head and lacing. Translucent and some carbonation swirling about.

S - Typical smell of pumpkin spice, with a fiant amount of pumpkin. Would like a bit more of it, but it does have a decent earthy quality.

T - Decent flavor, but the taste is fairly generic. Not over the top, and the spice tends to be more dominant than the actual pumpkin flavor.

M - Smooth, feels light bodied, and minimal carboantion. Good fall beer with snacks.

O - A solid local pumpkin beer. Even if not noteworthy its still cool to have a Long Island brewery branching out with seasonals.

From notes taken on 10/30

Pours a rather flat amber color with a small wispy white head.

The aroma was of a light caramel malt with some tea like scents. The pumpkin spice was light on the nose with nutmeg and cinnamon standing out.

The taste was of a solid amber/caramel base. A healthy amount of nutmeg to go along with some cinnamon and allspice. The spice seemed light at first but became more noticable as it warmed. Some light lemon flavors in the finish.

The beer had a moderate body with crisp carbonation. Sweet on the palate but has an offsetting lemony astringency. Drinks quite well.

A decent pumpkin ale, better as it warmed.

A: The beer is crystal clear dark reddish amber in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that died down rather quickly, leaving bits of lacing on the surface and a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of pumpkin spices are present in the nose—allspice and nutmeg seems to stand out in particular—along with slight hints of pumpkins.
T: The taste mostly follows the smell, except that the pumpkin flavors are a little stronger and there are also some initial hints of sweetness and notes of cinnamon. The spices linger through the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This pumpkin ale seems to be a lot spicier compared to other beers in the style. It could be an interesting selection for someone who isn't looking for something sweet.

On draft at The Lark, East Northport, NY.

Poured a medium hue with a half finger foamy white head. There was little retention and lacing.

The smell featured a rindy, fleshy pumpkin with mild spices.

The taste was likewise vegetable infused with the fresh fleshy pumpkin cut by a soft medley of pumpkin pie spices.

The mouthfeel was chewy with a dry finish.

Overall a very tasty and fleshy pumpkin ale.

Not your typical pumpkin beer as it was crisp and almost hoppy versus loaded with spices and fake pumpkin flavors, this was easy drinking and devoid of any spice overload that in general can make some beers in this style awful.

Acquired from Cuzco so a big “Thank You” goes out to him. Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep golden brown color, with a thin off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains pumpkin, spices, caramelized malts and a faint touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out some mild sweetness containing flavors of pumpkin and spices. Then a hearty but not too heavy malt character comes in. The hops presence is very mild but complementary and brings a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, decent representation of style, it’s a decent beer to drink for a while if you’re in the mood for the style.

Draught
A-Poured cloudy dark orange color, with fuzzy head which disappears quickly
S- Dark and musty smell here with some lightly spicy hops and some cinnamon
T- Spicy hops, not the usual pumpkin spice taste, and some vegetable taste (squash/pumpkin?)
M- Medium body, lingering taste
O- A different taste for the style. Not what I was expecting for the style. A good fall beer maybe, but not a pumpkin ale I would prefer.

picked up a 10 oz sampler fill of this about 2 hours ago. enjoyed from a sniftery tulip.

a - poured an orange brown with a thin beige head that was gone almost instantly. lacing was streaky and spotty, but pretty minimal. semi-transparent to the light and some visible carbonation.

s - nice balanced sweet pumpkin with some pot pouri for good measure.

t - meh. fairly malty with a subtle hint of pumpkin.

m - good carbonation, lot bodied...fairly lagery.

o - overall, glad i tried it but one glass is plenty. i tend to like pumpkin beers that are bigger in the pumpkin department. fairly lagery. kind of like lager with a hint of pumpkin.
