Absolutely no head and of course, no lace on the glass. The liquid has a reddish amber hue and is relatively clear.
Sweet malt aroma, which shows up in the flavor as well. The finish is lightly bitter. A strong warming alcohol comes through in the swallow. The body is thick but the carbonation brings balance. Only element missing from a typical Quad--there's no yeast evident.

On tap at the Holiday Ale Fest. From notes.
A: Pours a clear copper-orange body with decent carbonation.
S: It's boozy (I wrote this in all caps and underlined it -- boozy is serious business!!!), smelling of raisin syrup, apricot, and flowers.
T: Oh, lord. Horribly boozy, harsh, painful, words of that nature. It's reminiscent of Dogfish Head Raisin D'Extra with the booze and raisin syrup flavors, though apricot and flowers make it somewhat distinct. It has a light flavor of orange and spice. But it's so harsh that I can't find this impressive as a quad or whatever it purports to be.
M: Intensely harsh and painful for only 9%.
D: Never again.

Strong and dry, smelled like orange peel and finished on the same citrus note with hints of spice. High alcohol content more apparent as it nears room temp. Had this in a sampler during a recent visit to the brewhouse, I'd definitely drink a pint of it if given the opportunity.

On tap at Deschutes PDX 3.25.10, poured into snifter.
Orangish amber clear body, 3/4 finger semi-creamy white head, thin lingering layer of head on top of body after quick dissipation. Nose is sweet, not much hops, Taste profile is more of a tripel, quite sweet, orange, mangoes, with a good dose of chocolate for some interesting balance. Mouthfeel is semi-full, dry, not too sticky despite the sweetness. Pretty tasty but a bit too sweet for the style, but very boozy. I'd like to have a bottle of this to sit on and see if the alcohol settles a bit over time.

Served in a oversized snifter at the PDX pub, Streaking the Quad is a clear orange with a big white head that leaves scattered lace.
Smell is spicy, with tropical fruits and clean ethanol.
Taste is more spicy then the nose, pepper, but with some orange/citrus notes. Clean heat, very faint phenols, well put together and impressive quad.
Mouthfeel is dry and light, with nice carbonation that provides some crispness, no doubt accentuated by the alcohol.
Drinkability is damn good, I was really impressed with this quad. Nice depth, classic, authentic flavor profile (abbey esters, lighter malt style), very smooth.

Draught @ the Portland Brew Pub poured into Snifter glass.
Pours a murky burgundy with a bubbly off-white head that quickly dissolves into a fine film in the glass and leaves a light ring. Aroma is mostly yeast with some booze and no present hops to speak of. The flavor has brown sugar, dried fruit (figs and apricots) and some caramel malts. Its a light- to medium-bodied beer that is effervescent. It a nice beer but becomes more boozy as it warms up.
