Poured from a bottle with a best by date of 8/12/14; into a pub glass.
Appearance - sunset orange in color, and dancing carbonation bubbles build a 2.5/3 finger, foamy beige head. Lacing is spectacular!
Smell - mango and grapefruit upfront; maybe some sourdough or biscuits as well. After it sits a grass nose comes out.
Taste - interestingly, I'm detecting more pine needle and mango and not the grapefruit I expected. Strong malt backbone.
Feel - bitterness on the tongue at first, but fought back by the malt. Bitterness ultimately wins out. Nice and complex feel!
Overall - I dig Deschutes, and this is a solid offering somewhere between Inversion and Hop Henge!

A: Beautiful burnt orange color with a thin 1/4 inch head that quickly dissipates and leaves a white ring around the glass. Minimal lacing

S: smells of pineapple and citrus

T: clean tropical and citrus fruit flavor followed by hints of malt with a grassy and bitter but not overwhelming hop presence.

M: Good carbonation that provides a pleasant tingling sensation.

Great IPA, but hard to find and expensive at $3.99 a bottle.

Had on tap at the Portland Brewpub.
a-Poured a light gold color with a skinny layer of head that thinly laced along the side of the glass.
s-The smell was a pure piney hop smell.
t-A very strong pine taste upfront with a very bitter aftertaste.
m/d-This is a real slow drinker, very strong and bitter. I really enjoy IPA's, but this one disappointed me a little.

Pretty Solid IPA here. $5.99

A - Darker than expected. Dark copper color, decent activation and head retention.

S - There's that Citra...a musty melon aroma and oranges, some apricot.

T - Musty Citra Melon forward citrus, caramel malt backbone.

M - Crisp, clean & refreshing. Easy going down, no problem killing the 22oz.

O - Other breweries that come to mind (RRBC, Drake's, FFF) would offer this as their hoppy pale ale. Pretty solid beer here, but not as "juicy" as the name and label would suggest. Worth the one time purchase. Better than Red Chair, but not better on the wallet, but worth the spend.

Poured into a pint, the color is a dark saturated orange, some stray rising bubbles, and and an ample two-finger layer of off-white foam on the surface. Lots of lacing, forming speckled rings in the glass.

Aroma is mild and fairly malty, some apricot and citrus plus a small floral element.

Citrusy candied orange peel, tangerine, bready caramel malt middle. Light to moderate bitterness, smooth creamy feel. Dry bitter finish. Pretty classic IPA structure on display here. Not bad, worth checking out.

Appearance. Pours a deep, rich orange-amber with a little haze and finger of off white head.

Smell. Juicy red grapefruits, lemon rinds, and oranges. Fairly sweet with some nice caramel coming through.

Taste. Really juicy with red grapefruit, orange and a little squeeze of lime juice. Some nice caramel malts backing up all those hops and an oily, bitter citrus rind finish.

Mouthfeel. Medium+ body, medium-low carbonation.

Overall. Great stuff, Deschutes! Tons of citrus in this big hop bomb. My kind of IPA.

Picked up at the COOP for a pricey (given it is a regular IPA) $5... Pours with a 1 finger off white head atop a very slightly hop hazy orange brew... nice lacing for the entire glass and subsequent pours.

The aromas are mainly melon hoppiness given the assist by a lite malty background that seems to help the hops bloom a bit.

Flavor has a very mild bitter bite given the style, but a wonderful tropical fruitbowl hoppy palate... pineapple and melon come immediately to mind... Within most style guidelines, but I would prefer the lite caramel dialed back some.

Body and carbonation are pretty much spot on.. though it the body could come down a notch IMO.

Pretty drinkable... Though probably too expensive (in 22's) for me to buy again unless I was experimenting with Citra or Mosaic hops when homebrewing. I would happily pay $10ish for a 6'er.

Raul loves something that screams at him. Like when he first met his baby mama and she was wearing a Norcisco Rodriguez pencil skirt... Woo-wee. Like, wowie zowieee! So like my baby mama when I FIRST met her, a name like Fresh Squeezed does nothing but scream at Raul.

Like a Bar Rafaeli cover spread, this bad sucker was speaking to Raul. Juicy, delectable, spunky and just plain good.

No juicers necessary my children; just grab a bottle opener, a teku, and pour da damn thang and savor it.

Poured from tap at Deschutes Portland Public House.

Looks like IPA. Smells like IPA. It IS IPA!

Well there is a lot more citrus in this version than most other IPAs. I tasted this next to 5 other Deschutes Pale Ales and IPAs. This one had the richest aromatics and most citrus. There is some pine and fresh hop zip but it is well integrated. Good flavors focused on those fresh citrus and hop notes. Above average texture for an IPA with a great balance that screams for another sip!
