Bottle as Mocha Wednesday, Batch 1 from trade, poured July 15, 2014. Pours dark murky brownish black with a very small khaki brown head on top that goes away quickly. Awesome chocolate and huge nutty coffee aroma, more nuttiness, caramel and molasses, brown sugar, toffee nuts, pralines, coffee, bourbon booze. Fantastic. Flavor is sweet caramel and brown sugar, nutty toffee, lots of lingering vanilla, some chocolate, light earthy coffee notes but very subdued on that front, bourbon and alcohol for sure but actually surprisingly smooth. Note nearly as sweet as Chocolate Rain for me. Comes off with some serious tiramisu flavor with extra booze, which is awesome. As with Grey Monday this really comes off like an English barleywine to me. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of stout characteristic left here. Big rich body with lowish carbonation, smooth on the palate with light burn and plenty of warmth on the way down. Really nice variant. Deserves higher score but hurt a bit due to being a little ugly looking.

A: Pours a near opaque black. A bubbly, one finger tan head forms and recedes quickly. Light lace.
S: Roasted malt and coffee up front. Chocolate and sweetness in the middle, and finishes with the barrel. Wood, vanilla, bitter bakers chocolate lingers. Big, billowing, and what you would expect for the series.
T: Like the nose, everything about this is big. Roasted malt, coffee, bakers chocolate, and huge barrel character. Wood and vanilla. Lingering bitter coffee and bitter chocolate.
M/D: Like the others, a huge viscous body that is low on the carbonation. Intense, and brooding, but enjoyable for a few ounces.
I Honestly think there are much more enjoyable options easier to get, and often for me, locally made. I can actually get through more than a few ounces with this one though. Glad to tick it, but I am not seeking this out.
