Wow just a quick glance at the reviews and now after about a year, I finally have a beer worth reviewing.

I won't waste time going down the taste list, please review ddb to to that. However I will let you know that this is a very drinkable sour, coconut forward, mild and fun. Not to sweet, yet you will have enamel left and your insides will not be rotten. One of the best sours from Bruery... Pop and enjoy, or send to me

750 ml waxed bottle poured into a Bruery tulip.
8% ABV

A - Hazy rustic honey colored with a head that audibly fizzles out into nothing almost instantaneously - it must be pretty damn acidic!

S - With it's vanishing head, it's hard to grab a nose from the brew but suggestions of pineapple and toasted coconut overlap wet straw and a lightly tart funkiness.

T - Toasted coconut lightly dusted with cinnamon crosses the tongue with a slightly sweet caramel maple syrup-kissed malt background and funky acidic finish.

M - Light and undercarbonated for the audible fizz the beer's head lets out, this tart beer finishes with a lovely dryness and nod to puckering sourness.

O - Melange No. 9's interesting blend of coconut, cinnamon, and maple works splendidly in this "light" sour that finishes slightly still and tart for a completely unique brew.

Pale gold wax-capped 750mL bottle acquired through the Hoarders Society. Bottled 1/29/14. Served in a Bruery snifter.

Pours a hazy, almost completely opaque, orange hay color with some token pale bubbles that start at a finger and a half but quickly disappear. No retention. No lace.

Aromas are tart with oak, ginger, hay and just a hint of sugar.

Flavor is sour with an over arcing tartness. Luckily I allowed it to warm a bit before reviewing- the flavors open up quite nicely as the regrigerator's chill wears off. A nice toasted coconut flavor intermingled with rye, hay, oak, vague marmalade, ginger, faint vanilla, ocassional traces of bourbon, a hint of caramel and very little alcohol presence. The sour macaroon description from a previous review is pretty accurate.

Medium feel with a sharp pop on the tongue yet not exactly much in the way of carbonation. Tart wet hay, coconut milk, rye, barrel and a hint of sweetness in the aftertaste.

Less a Melange and more a Sour in the Rye remix. It retains most of SITR character with a pleasant twist of coconut and subtle ginger. Still an enjoyable brew. I don't know that I'll hold on to my last bottle much longer because I don't want it to lose the coconut that really makes this beer special.
