10 year old bottle, one of the first I cellared.
Dark brown ale, low carbonation, super viscous. Nose is of oak and molasses. Flavors are cherry forward, a little too much so, which unfortunately drowns out the other adjuncts. Still, the molasses notes carry the weight, and the fact that this has been in a box for almost 10 years after bottling says a lot to how well this was crafted.

Bottled 12/13/16; drank 2/24/17 @ Harvest Hop Haus.
Brown/black appearance.
Minimal khaki head; minimal lace.
Milk chocolate, hazelnut, cherry, coffee & mild cinnamon notes in the nose; wow!
Thick mouthfeel.
Milk chocolate, vanilla & cherry flavors up front; medium roast coffee bean & mild booze heat notes on the finish.
A delicious, balanced, complex stout (this ain't no porter). Epic.

750 ml bottle into snifter, bottled on 12/13/2016. Pours dense opaque pitch black color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy tan head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, red/black cherries, vanilla, cream, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, fruit skin/pit, raisin, prune, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oak earthiness. Slight booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, vanilla, coffee, cherries, bourbon barrels, and light earthy hops/fruity yeast notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, red/black cherries, vanilla, cream, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, fruit skin/pit, raisin, prune, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oak earthiness. Very mild herbal, grass, roast, char bitterness; and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, red/black cherries, vanilla, cream, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, dark bread/crust, light licorice/molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, vanilla, coffee, cherries, bourbon barrels, and light earthy hops/fruity yeast flavors; with a fantastic roast/hop bitter/sweet, bourbon/oak spice, and tart/tangy fruit balance; with zero cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness, bourbon/oak spiciness, and tart/tangy fruit. Mild increasing warmth of 13.5%, with zero lingering barrel booze after the finish. Overall this is an amazing flavored barrel aged imperial porter. All around amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, vanilla, coffee, cherries, bourbon barrels, and light earthy hops/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV, with the mildly bitter/tart/tangy/tannic/drying finish. Amazingly soft/silky feel for the huge ABV. Perfectly balanced between super rich malts, vanilla, cherries, fruity/nutty coffee, and bourbon barrel presence/integration. Mild earthy hops and fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and top tier quality style example. Pretty mind blowing stuff. Heard infection rumors around about this beer, wasn't sure what collab side had them. This was a home run.

Poured from bottle. Pours black with dark tan head. Lots of smoked meats on aroma with some bourbon and cocoa. Taste of dates, raisins, bourbon, smoked meats, coffee, cocoa. Really don’t get any vanilla. Very well done “porter”.

WOW! Took me a while to get a hold of this but boy was it worth the wait! Perfect amount of cherry and vanilla adjuncts. The high ABV isn’t even noticed it is so tasty!
