2014 Vintage

Appearance: Slightly cloudy dark-brown with a modest sized light-beige head that dissipated fairly quickly. The look is on par with the other Anniversary beers.

Smell: Brown sugar, dark fruit notes (raisins and prunes), moderate whiskey notes, and mild toffee notes. Nice nose on this beer.

Taste: Moderate Whiskey notes, fruity sherry notes, raisins/prunes, some brown sugar, moderate spicy rye notes and mild oak notes. The rye Whiskey bal-aged Anniversary beesr finish drier and less sweet than the bourbon bal-aged versions of the Anniversary beers. This one is no exception with a dry spicy feel left at the very end. I would almost say Bull&*^% regarding the listed 16.3% ABV, alcohol is not present in the taste profile but I can tell it's one of those beers you could drink way too fast and get kicked in the head. Very mild alcohol presence, great for the ABV.

Mouth-feel: Medium-bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation.

Overall: The rye whiskey and Brandy bal-aged Anniversary beers take top billing for me. This is a fine beer with a good tasting and complex taste profile.
