On tap for The Bruery Sucreversary held at The Phoenix Club in Anaheim, CA.

Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, brown sugar, spice, rum, wood, and slight smoke aromas. Taste is much the same with vanilla, brown sugar, rum, wood, and slight smoke flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of wood bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a smoke presence that is fairly subdued with the rum barrel aging. (702 characters)
