Chronology:6 is the first in a 4 part experiment with barrels and time. We brewed a beer rich and malty with undertones of brown sugar, toffee and toasted French bread and set it to age in bourbon barrels. Every six months we'll take a quarter of the barrels, blend them and bottle them. This first bottling represents the flavors imparted in the base beer after 6 months of barrel aging.

Supposed to be a share with rudzud, enjoyed during a Bruins game as it would have with rudzud
Pours s smaller tan fizzy head covering with med retention, little lacing, nice legs, dark mahogany ruby color
Nose big sweet malt, heavy rich candy malt, caramel and butterscotch, toffee, some dark fruits, little paper and waxy oxidation, little winey as well, light toasted oak and whiskey, nutty
Taste plenty of sweet malts again, toffee and caramel all over, some butterscotch candy, nutty, candy syrup, smooth perfumey alcohol, light oxidation with paper and waxy again, some dark fruits like candied fig and molasses date, light oak and whiskey, sticky sweet finish, touch more alcohol warmth
Mouth is fuller bod, rich syrupy, light carb, light warming almost tingly alcohol
Overall basically what I expected, can't wait to see how the oak barrel develops it

Look: cloudy butterscotch, that maybe influenced by the whole room smelling of drunken butterscotch soon I wrested the wax top off.
Smell: see above. Rich as all hell, like many of of these Bruery gems.
Taste: semi sweet dessert but balanced with a some dry spice. Awesome.

Appearance - The beer poured a caramel brown color with a tan head crowning the glass.
Smell - The nose radiated sweet booziness. The sweetness was almost candy-like.
Taste - The initial impression was super smooth; there was almost no alcohol bite. Other notes included fruit leather, amaretto, and caramel. The profile went a little dry in back with a woody hint.
Mouthfeel - The style by nature is not particularly thick, but this one has some viscosity.
Overall - Of the Chronology series that was sampled, this was my favorite. Chronology 6 was smoother and had more sweetness. The result was the opposite of what I thought it might be.
