Hazy yellow with some lacing. Lemon, perfume, floral nose. Taste has a bit of funk, Belgian yeast, hops are prominent. Thin body and lower than hoped for carbonation.

Poured from a brown 25.4 oz. bottle. Has a dark golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is fruity, grapes stand out, a touch of spices. Taste is raspberries, grapes, malts, light spices and yeast. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.

Tasted from a 750 ml bottle bought on sale at Lee's Discount Liquors in Las Vegas. No idea how long it may have been on the shelf.

L - Bright golden color with just a bit of haze. Glows yellow when held up to the light. Fluffy, fairly persistent head is made up of translucent white bubbles, looking very soap-like.

S - Aromas blend lightly sweet, bready malt, with hops notes of lemongrass and herbs. Spicy yeast note at the end. It smells very light and refreshing.

T - In the flavors the herbal hops note dominates, leaving citrus in second fiddle. The malt is way in the background and you seem to skip right past it to get to the spicy yeast note at the end of the palate. The flavors are so herb-dominated that it is not as refreshing as the aroma led you to believe.

F - Light to medium body. Medium carbonation is slightly prickly. Strong hops bitterness. No alcohol presence, as you'd expect for this ABV.

O - This beer was a bit disappointing to me, since I am a die-hard fan of The Bruery and also Belgian Ales. The bottle I tried was missing in malt character and was dominated by a slightly odd herbal note that kept it from being simultaneously malty and refreshing, the way I expect of the style. I'd like to give it another chance with a fresher bottle to see if mine was affected by age.

Pale yellow in color with a sightly hazy appearance that still shows the crazy release of carbonation from the bottom of the glass, pours with a crazy amount of head to it as well, over three fingers worth of puffy off-white colored head with a great amount of retention and lots of patchy lacing.

Good amount of aroma, grassy with a spicy Belgian yeast note and hints of pineapples.

Good aromatic mildly herbal, almost minty, rosemary, green grassy hop flavor forward with a faint hints of some pineapple and orange peel to it.

Mildly sweet, light wheaty base with some slight trace of saltine crackers to it with a soft, semi-dry body with an effervescent carbonation to it.

Light but present Belgian/ Saison, spicy yeast notes on the back end that lingers on the aftertaste along with a grassy/ herbal hop flavor and faint hints of black tea that causes it to finish on dryish side.

Bubbly. Citrusy. Dry. Full.
A luxurious head gives way to swirling protein that tells me The Bruery's penchant for yeast promises pleasure again.
Smells are mostly a blast of lemon. The yeast continues to behave itself in the Taste which becomes increasingly dry despite the fruity attack. My mouth is full and, despite the dryness, enjoying Jardinier.

I've given Big OA Hugs to The Bruery. In part this is because they are certainly in North America's Top Ten Belgian Specialists and maybe its Top Five if I were to get precise. I also recognize that I had not put them on my Belgian Brewers Bucket List of and should. Their website shows they are now more accessible with a second taproom in Anaheim and, even, a store in a DC's Eastern Market. With two more reasons, The Bruery is pushing its way up my BBB List.

Picked this up recently at Joe Canal's in Parsippany, never having had this before. Most of the other beers from The Bruery tend to be a bit overprice and underwhelming but this one hit the mark in both of those aspects as it was quite accessible. While not on par with it's imported counterparts, this was fine for a summer night such as this - even out of a big bottle!

Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was murky, golden, and topped off with a vivacious head. That took a while to settle but amazingly, there was very little lacing left behind as I worked my way through this. Usual notes of banana, clove, Belgian yeast, apple, and grass in the nose as the taste contained all of those with some pear, tea-like spice, and hints of gin-like botanicals. Nice body and a good carbonation to this but overall, this came across as just a bit too dry and exotic to be rated any higher...

This was a table beer and if there was any bread on hand, that would have been great as it would been the palate cleanser that this called for. It was fine by itself but at the end, I needed a chaser of water to get it completely down. Worth a go once but certainly not as good as the higher-rated offerings from The Bruery...

A: The first bottled I opened was a geyser, but subsequent bottles have been a little more tame. A hazy pale amber in color with a massive white head. Definitely plenty of carbonation in this.

S: Lightly hoppy with floral, earthy and citrus notes. Perhaps a bit of pepper in there as well.

T: Earthy and floral with a nice citrus crispness and some tartness, with a hint of funk.

M: Light and crisp, with oodles of bubbles. champaign like carbonation, and a semi dry finish.

O: Overall pretty tasty, and I got a whole bunch of them at a bargain price. Definitely worth it.

Look: dark dirty straw colored with a very white foamy almost bath soap looking head that lingers and is very soft

Smell: Yeast first followed by some other fruity esters in a mellow grain bill

Taste: little on the bitter side definitely has yeast, strong breadiness to it but not necessarily roastiness. Orchard fruits like apples and pears. Low phenolic pepperyness. You can tell a Belgian style yeast was used.

Feel: quite smooth going down, airy, little bit slick on the tongue. Soft carbonation that foams up a little bit on the palate.

Overall: This beer is a good representation of the style and reminds me of the Belgian pale that I had over in Bruges. For the price and the size of the bottle I would get it again.

Pours a hazy gold with effervescence spewing from the bottom long into the pour. Pour produces a huge, lively head of somewhat lasting, foamy, white head that leaves a splotchy wash of lace. Aroma is pale malt, esters of peach & apple with lemon, barnyard funk, spice & pepper with a thin white grape hint. Taste is green apple with other white fruits, phenolic, pale malt, lemon, lightly tart, very dry with a distinct but distant bitterness. Cracker malt & soda dryness in the peppery, thin tart finish. Sour white fruit, phenolic, mildly bitter & astringent aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with high carbonation, prickly, dry & mildly astringent. I understand that this is a session brew but for a Belgian Pale the taste is thin and somewhat disappointing. Something slightly less than expected from this fine brewery.
