Bottled 03/31/16, consumed late July 2021. This is…odd. Had high hopes but it’s pretty mediocre. Too strong, not enough Gose character, and a bit cloying. Fruity and funky but just a bit disappointing.

A: poured into a weizen glass to a pale and slightly hazed straw yellow topped by a small white head that has essentially no retention and no lacing
S: Smells slightly tart and salty with some hints of chalky yeast and light malts
T: Taste is a little tart and fruity up front with some funky brett notes along with some grapes and port wine. Slight pale malt at times with some saltyness as well. Swallow is more grapes and tartness with some lingering hints of oak and salt along with some lingering port wine flavors.
M: This beer has a medium body with soft carbonation and a drying finish
O: Overall this one is a little odd. It's good but it isn't really in my wheelhouse. One to try but I won't be sad it they don't brew it again.

L - Pours a semi-opaque golden pale body with a fizzy half finger head that doesn't bother to stick around. As far as a gose goes, that's about all I expect.
S - Funky, tart and lemon at first. Brine is definitely coming through. Can't discern the port barrels though.
T - The port wine is showing itself and offering an interesting mix of sweet and tart. Funk and grapes are mixed in.
F - Medium bodied and medium carbonation. It has a wet/dry finish.
O - I really enjoyed the taste of this beer. Other aspects were lacking. Not your typical gose, but The Bruery doesn't really do anything typical.
