Poured from a large style capped 1 pt 9.4 fl oz (750ml) bottle into a Dogfish Head signature glass (February 25, 2010). No freshness date that I can find.

Eyes: Pours a pale golden color with a very fizzy white head. Lots of lively carbonation in the glass which pushes around some of the particulate in there. Similar in activity to sparkling wine. The bottle slowly spews foam after the first pour.

Nose: A lavender punch! I like the smell of lavender, but I can't say that the small of lavender is actually appetizing to me. There is also yeast, citrus, spice, and a bit bready too.

Tongue: Less lavender than the nose thankfully. Some coriander, yeast, and white pepper. Tastes somewhat soapy and sharp. Wet naps come to mind.

Mouth: Chock full of prickly carbonation, too much for me thanks. A bit sour and very sharp, which enhances the spicyness.

Libation: For a premium beer, I'm a bit underwhelmed. There is a whole lot going on here which probably would work in another combination. I'm not sure lavender leading the charge was the way to go. An interesting and complex beer, but maybe too complex for me.

I can't think of many times I've had foods that are made with lavender, and even fewer where lavender is the dominant characteristic. The spices are all good, and all add a good piece to the puzzle, but the mixture doesn't work with my palate.

Enjoyed this bottled brew out a large snifter glass.

A: Pours a clearish golden hue with a frothy white head that doesn’t quit – leaving a great trail.

S: Crisp orange peel and banana clove aroma.

T: Complex flavor – slight sweet and malty.

M: Medium body and medium carbonation.

O: Solid brew – too bad it is discontinued.

Poured into my new teku, woo hoo. Have been waiting to open it, thought it would be a nice christening beer. The second I opened it, it fizzed out the top. Poured pretty clear golden with a huge white foamy head. Smell is a lot of wheat, some lavender, some spices i can't figure out.Taste is mild, wheat, bready, oats are defiantly present, lavender, some mild clementine. Texture is a bit thicker than anticipated but enjoyable. Overall this beer is unique but you really have to drink it slow to try to pick out all the flavors. I really can't put my finger on most of the flavors but I know I really liked it, very complex but light.

Side note: after the review I saw the label, where it says bready and lavender, now I feel dumb. Or I guess it's good that I recognized the flavors
